Andy Fraser of Free - quality bass player of a band that never seems to get the kudos that other bands of their era, seem to be 'the band from the chewing gum ad'. Listening to a repeat of an interview on the radio last night, it seems every attempt to get back together again (including the Olympics opening ceremony) were scuppered by Paul Rodgers.

A J Pero of Twisted Sister.

Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French has reported that drummer A.J. Pero has passed away. The cause of death is not yet known.

On his Facebook Page, French reported: "The members of Twisted Sister are profoundly saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother, A.J. Pero.

"The band, crew and most importantly the family of A.J. Pero thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this time."

Pero played with Twisted Sister from 1982-1986, 1997-1998 and 2003-present, having appeared on all but one release ("Love Is For Suckers," 1987). He also appeared on the classic Cities album from 1986 - "Annihilation Absolute." In addition, Pero has performed on the latest two Adrenaline Mob releases: "Men of Honor" (2014) and this year's EP "Dearly Departed."

The first band I ever saw. One of the best drummers in '80s metal.
Gutted.
:(

So, so sad. Fantastic, yet underrated, drummer

Really sad news, great drummer and only 55!

I wouldn't be surprised if that spells curtains for Twisted Sister, as I remember them being pretty set on the current lineup only being the original members.

Been a bad week for 70s and 80s musicians. Be careful crossing that road King!

I remember buying his album at a Tesco in Omagh and I fucking loved it. I would listen to it every single day after school without fail. I usually don't really get sad from Celebrity deaths but this one has kinda hit me. Genuinely sad about this one :(

He irritated the hell out of me on TV and in the charts, but he was a character nonetheless. 24 is absolutely no age to go. RIP.
