Shawn Smith - honey voiced singer from Pigeonhed, Satchell who got noticed after being swept in the grunge scene after singing on Pearl Jam spin-off band Brad's Shame album which came out as PJ were getting massive. They made more albums, and he sung on the first album of Afghan Whigs spin-off The Twilight Singers, plus having his songs all over The Sopranos. I saw Brad on their only UK tour, have the poster hung in my hallway - he had an amazing voice and did the not-inconsiderable feat of making a a member of Pearl Jam funky.

A few weeks after their last UK tour, UFO's Paul Raymond has passed away, aged 73 - also part of MSG and Waysted

Niki Lauda died yesterday at 70. He won two F1 World Championships after a horrendous crash in 1967 where he suffered third degree burns to his face. What a guy.

Rosław Szaybo - a Polish cover designer. Designed covers for Judas Priest (British Steel), Elton John, The Clash and many others. He also designed Priest's logo.

Jake Black - aka The Reverend D Wayne Love - Singer with the Alabama 3, passed away just days after his last gig.

Mac Rebennack - aka Dr John - part of the 'wrecking crew' group of musicians who played sessions on countless of singles in the 60s before inventing the 'Dr John' character from old voodoo tales and playing strange mix of psychedelia, voodoo and rnb, he ended up on albums by Rolling Stones, Zappa, The Band etc.

Seriously, if you look through the actors that played named roles many of them are dead. Some of them quite young.
