I think we're all of the impression that Wales is less of a country than say Cornwall, Portugal or Kosovo.

If you come here and say that, people will....disagree.

If Scotland does become independent, I can definitely see Wales trying to follow suit. But we would be terrible on our own. I think we'd have a better chance becoming a part of Scotland, and I think many people would pick that over being British.

Most English would never choose being classed as Scottish over Brittish.

I don't even like using British. I am from England therefore I am English.

Not the worst thing I said about Wales in this thread but I am sure they wouldn't.

You very much underestimate how hated the English are in Wales. At least in my experience. We'd much rather be associated with Scotland than have anything to do with the English bastards.

Thread turning into a fuck you match between the home nations, who'd have thought it?

Its great in theory, but the Scots wouldn't want anything to do with Wales judging by a few Scottish friends I have that speak as highly of the Welsh than they do of the English. I am often referred to as a heathen southern cunt.

If you need a land border with Scotland, we'll happy draw an east west line on the Cannock chase and you can have everything more northerly than that. We'll even throw in Wolverhampton and Coventry.

Really doesn't surprise me Wales is kept off the map. It doesn't deserve to be on one.

Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against the English myself. Hell, I'm more English than I am Welsh really, and I'd much rather live in England. I'm just saying what the sentiment seems to be here. If Scotland do gain independence, I really wouldn't be surprised to have a big push for seperation in Wales.

That's because there is a huge difference between lighthearted rivalry and active stupidity. The time of tiny insignificant nations is rightfully coming to an end.

I don't understand this at all. There are more nations than ever right now, and how is their time coming to an end?

We have large political conglomerates giving their weight to things collectively. The combined power and influence of the whole makes the intricacies and leverage of the smaller nations out there moot. Particularly within the EU, the member nations are becoming more and more integrated. It will not take long for countries to have the same relevance that cities have now. It is better to be within larger unions in the world these days.
