But I bet the crowds moved through London faster than the queue at Bloodstock's entrance does.

It's hard to judge if it was because BOA's queue wasn't fit for purpose or the crowd really wanted to hear Sadiq Khan speak :P

'Meaningful Vote' day today. I suspect it fails narrowly (there have been reports of odd MPs switching to support it, though not a lot publically). After which, God knows what happens.

Huge defeat by the government as expected but Jezza has called a motion of no confidence along with the other opposition leaders. It won't pass as the Hard Brexit Tories and the DUP will support the government. We live in interesting times.

So once the no confidence vote fails tomorrow and May has stated her next steps on Monday; Corbyn should (I would say has to but there will be some way to fudge it) come off the fence one way or the other as he won't get his GE. Interesting to see if he does split the party or not there.

Biggest loss of a vote in Parliamentary history, very strong and stable

The hard leavers are gambling on a no deal exit and the remainers seem to be hoping for a second referendum to reverse the result. I would bet on the latter but it won't happen without some consequences.

I'm the opposite, think we'll end up doing some kind of no deal but rebranded differently to save face. Only way I can see a 2nd ref is if Labour get behind it but I can only see Corbyn doing anything but that and just stalling.

So Theresa has announced another vote for her deal on 29th January, as the government clearly aren't happy that they lost and want to have another crack at the whip.

Hmmm.....

I think Newsthump have perfectly summed up the irony of this whole fiasco:

A good article about the state of our political parties:
https://unherd.com/2019/01/could-brexit ... -politics/

His main point is that both Lab and the Cons are coalitions of more than one group each, so voting for either party is not a real choice.

Possibly some truth in there - think we get used to the current party system, and its had a good run of a few decades - before about 1950, new parties of MPs were springing up all the time and crossing the house was not as rare as it is now

Peston is reporting a rumour that 4 Tories will leave and join the new group today.

I don't know why these rebel MPs don't just join the Lib Dems who are pretty much a centre party (by today's very capitalist standard).

Apart from Brexit and possibly the desire to draw away from a two party system I can't see the 11 of them agreeing on much. Personally I don't want them in the Lib Dems as it'd they'd use it as a vanity vehicle rather actually identifying with their values.
