Early Command and Conquer Games ( I would spend the entire school holidays playing this game ) Even years after the game was launched.) I am also a huge fan of RTS games to day.

Dave Mirra 1 & 2, Cyprus hill, Sublime, The Cult, Black Sabbath - Awesome soundtrack.

Not everyone's cup of tea, Reminds me of the summer 2007 when I was 19 or so not caring about work or politics etc. Just partying Drinking smoking and making love to my GF at the time. This was the year I had seen Celtic Frost on their last tour and the only time I was fortunate enough to see Akercocke. I also watched my dying bride that year as well, and from what I remeber Cradle of Filth were still good.

Interesting website here. All the BBC schedules from the listings in the Radio Times.

http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/

An example from Christmas Day 1980 when I was 10. Who says that Christmas TV was better back in the day? The big movie was Airport 1975.

Boxing Day was just as bad. The big movie was The Towering Inferno.

football sticker books seem to be making a big comeback for the Euros this year. Went to buy cigs at Tesco's and in front of me were like 3 30 year old blokes who must of bought about 10 packs between them.

Think the last time I actually collected any was around WC '98

Thing is, when you were 10 you had to scrape together to get a couple of packs a week at best.

Now we're 30+, we can go to the shop and splash out £20 on the fuckers and fill the book in like, 3 days. Then go on eBay for the rarities.
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

Just did a count there, my sticker album is 44.5% complete so far. Not bad progress, still haven't got to trade the spares with anyone yet though.

Main reason I probably decided to collect them this year it's the first major competition Northern Ireland have ever qualified for in my lifetime.

lost it's allure now I can just throw money at it, no anticipation left in it. Whereas before it was like you said, pulling together and hoping you got this or that card, now I could just go on ebay or the like and just buy each one.

Yeah you can also order them direct from Panini at 13p a piece up to a max of 50 per order. Going to avoid that til I get to near completion though.

Yeah football cards and stickers really lost their allure when I got into Pokemon and Magic The Gathering. There didn't seem to be any point collecting trading cards that weren't actually used in a game.

One of the actors there is Roy Thinnes, best known as David Vincent in The Invaders series. The original run was before our time but I remember seeing a repeat of it one day each week after school (it was always the day I had a pork chop for tea). It was quality drama and better than the aliens storyline in The X-Files.
