Heh, peacocking.

The post-modern equivalent of stuffing socks down your drawers?

Probably works on women who lust after a simpler time, one of tweed and lore.

Nah, if you want to pull hipsters you have to have rich parents and write songs about how hard it is to be well off. Preferably while dressing gender ambiguously.

Psht, bitches love pipes.

My mate occasionally takes a pipe to the pub and always gets hit on when he's outside smoking, it's mad.

I think i'd instantly assume anyone smoking a pipe is a bellend, especially at the pub. MAYBE at a festival it MIGHT be acceptable, but probably not.

I have a friend with a pipe and a tweed jacket and a classic landrover. I think it works for him because it's just accessories to his personality, but most other people not.

Damn, we have some difficultly classy birds on this forum who aren't easily impressed by anything! Time to stop trying :eyes:

if you're doing something with the sole purpose of impressing, then it probably won't work for everyone.

What I can't stand, and what I was trying to explain above but failed to, are people that are quite shy and not very confident on the inside but still act as if they're alpha and omega - I just feel like telling them to drop the act and just be themselves. They're the sort of types who tend to crave attention in most situations, and all eyes have to be on them for them to feel a little selfworth, which is a bit sad since it makes them look like self obsessed twats most of the time.

But yeah, very off putting. Not sure if that makes sense at all either.

It makes perfect sense - it's the point I was trying to make.

No pipes, got it.

What about a reputation for terrible singing and always going up on karaoke night?

I can't stop myself. I cringe whenever I hear myself sing yet every night out seemingly ends up in karaoke. To be fair though my Timewarp gets the place dancing.

I dunno, karaoke maestro can work in your favour, if you can make it funny.

Thats why I tend to stick with Monty Python or stuff from Rocky Horror. I've seen grown men in their 50's singing Snow Patrol and it's enough to make you off yourself.
