My girlfriends have all liked metal. Apart from the first one, but even she liked rock music in general. I think I'd find it hard to be in a relationship with someone that liked rap or techno. Not specifically because of their questionable musical tastes - everyone is free to like whatever works for them. But because we'd just be too far apart when it came to finding common ground musically.

Fortunately, I've never had a girlfriend who's wanted to go to anything that I haven't wanted to go to, too

I've noticed most young chefs either listen to that kind of music, or really, really mainstream (Kerrang!) metal.
This applies to England and Australia.

Our guys were listening to Frozen the other day. Not sure what that means.

I certainly could not go out with a girl who didn't like metal. Besides, almost all normies don't like guys with long hair, so if you have it you're essentially limiting yourself based on your appearance alone.

I personally feel I got more female attention when I had long hair, regardless of what music they were into. Even if they were eyeing me up only thinking, "damn, I really want to plait his hair."



Which I promptly allowed because I could honestly sit there for days with a woman playing with my hair.

While it's nice to be with someone who's into the same sort of music as you to give you something to talk about, it's also nice being with someone into something different so you have something to chat about, something to go to with them and basically go "look, look, this is what I like, what do you think?"

It's nice to share your hobbies and likes, etc with someone. That's a pretty big part of a relationship if you ask me.

Apart from a couple of friends who got caught up in the whole Nu-Metal/Alternative Metal BS neither my girlfriend or any other of my close friends are remotely interested in Metal. I think that is partly because we have other common ground and I have never integrated myself into the Metal scene.

For me, it is just the music I enjoy listening to and watching live.
