Blaaah, she didn't turn up at the time we'd arranged, and her phone seems to be off, so I can't really get in contact with her. Hopefully, she just overslept, and I can see her at lunch or in the morning break.

I saw her at lunch, and it was a failure.

She's very christian, you see, and I'm very atheist, though I obviously still get on with her, and most of her friends. She says she couldn't be with someone who wasn't a christian, because the purpose of a relationship is to get closer to god, together, in her opinion. And here's me thinking that the point of a relationship is to be closer to each other.

The christianity is the only reason, she also said it's such a major part of her life that she'd constantly want to share it with me. I, on the other hand, obviously have nothing important to me that I want to share with people

Still, I ended on an up note, telling her to call me if she ever changes her mind, and resorts her priorities.

Doesn't help me though

Yes, because she's a lovely person, and she's not overbearing with her beliefs or anything. It's just a part of her life.

But it does seem like her priority is her religion and usually if the differences are so strong it doesn't end well
But who knows, she might change her mind and realise the relationship with you would be more important

Ahh, from that little bit you wrote, I just got the impression that she was a bit over the top about her religion and stuff.

Well, I generally hate religion on principle; The fact I managed to tone it down to mild dislike was testimony to how hard I was trying for her.

I suppose to look on the bright side, I can go back to my hatred of both religion and the l-word, and feel less guilty if I randomly pull, or get hideously wasted. I may have lost my chance for a relationship with someone I care about, but at least I can be a generic, self-righteous, self-destructive metaller again. Yay
