So you'd never consider going out with someone who didn't live in the exact same town or within an easily travelled distance?

My ex was nearly a 5 hour train journey away, and it worked perfectly well and was more than worth the travelling.

It's pretty much that exact story with my current gf, and I think it's really hard. It's great when I do see her, but in between it's not :(

I didn't find it that hard but then I'm very much a person who doesn't need to be constantly with my OH. We saw each other pretty much every week though, on a rota system of who came to see who.

But I do think that there's no point bitching and moaning about always being single if you're limiting yourself to people in the local area only :3

That's very true. And she's keeping her job in York so I see her at weekends.

The thing with me is that my mind wanders and I'm relatively independent. I've had to take a second to realise I actually have a girlfriend when someone's asked me about her in the past. I literally forgot I had one, and this was with her living a two minute walk away. I'm not saying I wouldn't be willing to try the distance thing, it'll just suck compared to seeing her every day like I do now.

At the end of the day, by being very into metal, you limit your selection yourself. I have to travel to see my Cavegirl, but she's worth it :)

Considering the alternative that's most likely a good idea!

But joking aside, I would give it a try. If it doesn't work, you know you've given it your best shot, and if it does work then its all to the good :)

As for the only seeing her at weekends - when I was working I only saw the other half at weekends and he lives in the same city - sucked but when its your only option you put up with it and just make the best of the time you do have. Go for it

I have seen vicky pretty much every night for the last 4 years, apart from lately what with needing to revise for exams and what not. but I think im going to be seeing her a lot less once we both start uni.
even though were both living at home and live only a mile down the road from eachother.

I've never tried this whole 'long distance relationship' malarkey...but from what I can see I have came to the following conclusion:

Pros: More appreciative of other half. The sex is bitchin' when you don't see each other as often. Less arguments. Independence.

Cons: Less sex. Apparently forgetting you have an other half ( :P ). Lots of travelling.

Looking at my list I must say, I'd be willing to give it a go. Offers?

I would get so, so irritated if I was constantly around my OH. So long distance works well for me!

I've done distance for almost two years now, works for me. It's funny though, most guys wouldn't bother if you went "Oh by the way I'm moving to Wales in a week. and then in two years moving to France" so he's a keeper :)

Met this girl at the end of term and now I can't get her out of my head, it's fucking pissing me off, now I wish I could just leave it but the more I try to talk to her the harder it seems to get, just want to forget about it all now.

My horoscope lied to me today.
Now, normally I don't think much of horroscopes but todays one said, in no uncertain terms and without the usual flowery bollocks, that I will meet someone today who will be 'too good to be true' (Something to do with Venus aparantly...).

They didn't lie to you. They pretty much said she wouldn't be real.
