Do you know soemthing... we spent ages discussing fonts for our invites and I cannot even remember which one we used.

We spent ages working on futurama table names too - using a similar font to the futurama one, but on the day my mum used her own which had a horrid curly font thing going on, but on the day I didn't care.

I designed a website for Chris to make and used Hawaii Lover for the titles and really liked it, I almost wish we would have done the website before the invites so we could use it. If anyone wants to see it let me know and I'll send a link.

I used the same font to make Bridesmaid presents.

Only thing with Edwardian Scrpit is Legibilty in terms of colour.
I had one invite that had used it and you couldn't read it hardly,
as it was printed on a shiny card and in a horrible green.
So probably stick to dark toned colours with it. Just a thought.
Nothing wrong with Times. Although I use Garamond instead, but that's me.

I have no idea what our invites are going to look like yet.
I'd like to incorporate some Foil Blocking on it somehow, but
it will probably be a flat card, postcard, instead of a folded card. Will cut down
on paper as we need three different invites.

Thanks all for the congratulation messages

My dad got married in shorts, mum in a simple black dress. They decided on the place it was held in two days before the ceremony (so I've been told anyway). They didn't really bother on inviting anyone outside the family.

I think, for my parents as well as myself, less is more.

With all the hassle and costs I'm starting to feel sorry for you guys getting wed lol. I'd just do it all on a shoestring. Have the reception in a club, pheonix nights style, put on a good spread..the family would LOVE it!

On a similar note my childhood best friend (who I'm happy to say after almost 20 years I'm still friends with) just got engaged and asked me to be Maid of Honour :)

Now I'm not ENTIRELY sure what this entails.. other than planning the hen do. Which is gonna be fucking brilliant considering I hardly know any of her going out mates, and than theyre all a lot girler and a lot *ahem* chavvier than me..:eyes:

Fair enough. It's your wedding so you're allowed to have nice things. ATB.

Just as long as it doesn't turn into "OMG. We must have the biggest and best wedding our friends and family have ever seen. Quick. Go get some caviar, a brace of white panthers and a singing midget."

If I ever get married again I'm going to have naked midgets laying on a table covered in various things (fruit, sushi, etc).

I will have the fun of waxing them before too!

Infact I would try and have some sort of midget and tiger mud fight too.

AND YET every band that you have so far asked has offered to do it for free. Thusly leaving me five hundred pound for something astounding. Like a diamond manicure. Hur hur.

I have no real set idea on whether I want to get married or not. It's not as negative as having children - that's something I absolutely cannot picture, whereas myself married is something more of an ambivalent image.

The only one set thing I have in mind is that I will not be getting married in white. It makes me look horrendous because of my colouring, I'd feel an utter hypocrite running with the tradition and then casually ignoring where the tradition comes from, and besides which, I'd rather get married in a colour I like and will look nice on me.

So I will get married in red, should I get married :D
