But, isn't zero effort what they want? I AM CONFUSE.

People at work have joked about setting me up with people. They once suggested the girl I actually did have a thing for. I did the wink-and-point thing, and then nothing happened..

They want it to seem like zero effort, when it in fact (usually) takes much effort

I'm pretty sure Mike being right followed shortly by you being right is a sign of the coming apocalypse. I fear the wrong end of the stick may have been gotten, my understanding of things both surrounding women and just general coolness [see herzelied] (lol not really) is that there is a difference between zero effort and appearing effortless [See the steve .gif in my sig]. Pretty often though the whole effortless thing isnt so great anyway because trying too hard to appear effortless ends up in you tripping over your own feet, both literally and proverbially.
I used to have a link to a social networking site here but these days you all probably already know who I am.

To be fair I've been agreed with a fair few times in this thread actually, like when suggesting that relationships tend to need a reasonable amount of space i.e. having days apart and doing your own thing without them as it lets you keep your own space and at the same time makes you feel happier when you do see them again

I've never been set up, but I'm struggling to imagine any way where it could actually work out.
