This thread is fucking with my mind again.
Re: The Relationships Thread
What the heck is going on? Can you people stop being so dull and judgmental until we all see interesting posts/pictures in future please?

Saw the ladyfriend off for the last time this morning. She leaves Aberdeen for good tomorrow. It was never the intention to have anything serious since we knew it had an expiration date.
But god damn did I fall pretty hard for her by the end...

Feelings are a bitch, aren't they?
Re: The Relationships Thread
Damn right. Though we've just arranged to see each other before she catches her bus tomorrow, so that's a plus at least.

Re: The Relationships Thread
Not gonna do the long distance thang?
Re: The Relationships Thread
Nope. Things suck like this, but a long-distance straight off would be way worse. Chances are she won't even be living in the UK soon.

Ouch!
I had a long distance relationship (I had to move across the province). It fell apart fairly quickly.
Flash forward 10 years and had a long distance relationship different countries. Had to spend the first 2 years apart only seeing each other a few times each year on holiday. It was really tough but we're still together now.
If anybody wants to see a really good film about long distance relationships, this is it:

You all know our story. Long distance is doable, but it's not for everyone.

This. I could never do a long-distance relationship from the beginning. Works for some, not everyone!

Yup, the longest I've done is 3 hours distance (but that's fucking long when you're 14 and it's your first relationship). It wasn't easy at all. Then when I was 16 I had a girlfriend about an hour away. That was easier but only because her Dad actually enjoyed the drive to drop her off/pick her up. Then finally my last relationship was an hour on the train. Piss easy, but only thanks to railcards and having a job.
But this is all within one country. If she's leaving the UK then that's one fucking hard task. I don't envy your situation, mate

Well, perhaps. However, i'm really not the long-distance type. Despite my almost mythical-grade cool internet persona, in relationships I value togetherness and a metric tonne of affection. I've been at this for around a year and a half now, and I am still managing. It's a lot harder for me than her which helps as well, I would feel guilty otherwise.
