I concur, there's no point in sweetening everything up so much so, that it results in what you're telling them being absolute bullshit.

Some people can't handle the truth, so what, that's their problem. I mean hell, they'll have to face it sometime or another.

One thing that I will not abide is lying about the reasons for breaking up.
My ex did that, it became fucking obvious it was all a lie when he started going out with a girl i knew he thought was hot when we were together, about a month after we broke up... fucking bastard. i'll never forgive him for it.
