Yeah, I'd consider this the ideal scenario for young people. Someone you're in a relationship with would be able to handle the awkwardness more often someone on a one night stand.

I agree. Plus losing your virginity doesn't automatically mean you know what you're doing, which is why being in a relationship is best because it gives you the chance to get the hang of things, rather than having shitty sex once and then basically having to lose your virginity all over again when you get into a relationship.

I was year 9 (13). My first ever relationship ended and I thought it was the end of the world (4 months at that age is practically married) and I basically lost it to his best mate in the country park the week after (Classy!). We didn't even kiss! and blanked each other at school after. Ironically I ended up good friends with them in year 11 and we was at a party and ... another first!

To be honest I have never really thought of losing it as special as i knew at that age I wouldn't lose it to the guy I married. It wasn't a peer pressure thing either. Just wanted to see what this sex thing was all about.

I think one night stands are something to do once you are kind of comfortable with yourself and having sexy times in general.
Nothing worse than getting someone home and having the do the awkward fumble - would kill the whole mood one nighters give off?

Unfortunately, unlike other things, you can't learn from watching internet videos...

I'd have to disagree. Obviously you can't learn everything from it but in terms of logistics such as the right angle and variation of movement, you can learn quite a bit from it. There's definitely been multiple times I've seen something and thought "hmm, I might try that" and then later did

I'm comfortable with myself and sexy times but I have no desire to have one night stands :P

I think she means that if you are going to have one night stands they're best when you are comfortable with sexy things, not that being comfortable with it necessarily means you'll want to have one night stands.

Yup, thats what I meant sorry :)

I wouldn't recommend anyone have a one night stand if they don't like the idea of it.
I personally view sex a more physical thing, and that the emotional side comes with who you're doing it with - but I know it varies for different people.

This shits getting philosophical.

I've tried to convince myself I can see it as something physical, but when I ended up having a "fuck buddy" I found it really difficult as I ended up liking them and the feeling wasn't mutual. I'm not sure I can have sex without some kind of emotions attached, unless it was literally a complete stranger.

We've already had a pseudo-philosophical sex thread

I doubt it's survived. For some reason Threads seem to get deleted if they fall of the second page of the arms, which is a shame.
