You're gay?

Why is it that people think I'm after their bf's/partners/husbands? Seriously! Just cause I'm single and have a load of male friends doesn't mean I want to be anything more than mates with them :x It never seems to be guys I'd fancy even if they were single anyways :|

I got this last year at Bloodstock. A friend of mine from back home was supposed to meet me for a drink, but it turned out his girlfriend had stopped him from going. She's utterly convinced that I was going to 'steal' him from her. I guess the guy had neglected to mention to her I'm getting married..

It's total paranoia and insecurity! I dunno how that could be a relationship if you're that worried that your OH is about to take off with the next person they talk to.

For some reason keeps happening to me :| Even if I DID fancy them, I've got some morals, I wouldn't try to steal someone's bf off them! There's a line, and I wouldn't ever cross that! It just makes me laugh that it's always guys that I could never see as more than a mate!

Quick note, OH is the most goddamn annoying term ever. I feel like throwing my laptop at a wall every time I see it.

But anyways, relationships tend to mostly be founded on possessiveness.

I was just about to say that...
I only figured out what it meant like a couple of days ago too, never seen it used before anywhere else.
The only more annoying term than that is 'hubby' regarding relationshits and whatnot, and I swear that only ever comes up in shitty housewife magazines like 'Closer'

Yeah, there should be a ban on this forum for anyone that uses it. About half the forum would be gone in a day.

Also, I thought you would be the one (and probably only) to get that, Joe.

On the subject of possessiveness.. I think relationships that ARE founded on possession are doomed to fail. It's like.. you can't own someone, and trying to control their every move and their acquaintances is surely not attractive to anyone (except subs.. but that's different).
Likewise, it's a clear indication of your own self-esteem if you feel you need to 'ban' your other half from doing certain things or seeing certain people (exception to this is helping them quit smoking or whatever - but even then, it should be gentle, not "You're stopping NOW, and if I ever catch you doing it, we're finished" which sows the seeds of a break-up most of the time).
So.. if a relationship is formed on the knowledge that each person is free in what they do/who they socialise with, and there's a true element of commitment, and neither of them are koo-koo and prone to believing in an imaginary affair, jealousy and suspicion are NEVER a problem.

Using it in its non abbreviated form = b& also.
