From my experience this is false. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to work and socialise with a bunch of awesome girls who I couldn't for the life of me ever envision being in a relationship with.

I meant really really close, like almost best friend close... Only girls i've ever been that close to there's also been the sexytime element to it.

Most my close friends (including my best friend) are all female and I've only ever done any sexytime stuff with one.

I guess it depends on the people involved though. Put that's just me. It seems natural for me to be no sexual element *shrug*

Maybe not. In all honesty, I'm pretty feminine so that could explain it, as if I became anymore feminine, I'd have to return my testicles and man-points reward card.

Most of my best friends are girls and I've only ever had feelings with about.. all of them.
..oh.

But in all seriousness, only one or two have been a massive kick in the nuts about it. Close friendship with girls is very easy to do and it can last a lifetime. But I do see where Herzeleid is coming from, as there's been an attraction (at least on my part) to pretty much all of my close female friends.

most of my really super close friends are boys. i'm not particularly manly, they're not particularly feminine and there is no interest in any kind of relationship. i think it just depends on the personality of the individual as to whether or not they can be really close friends with the opposite gender.

Most of my friends are male and wouldn't even consider a relationship with most of them. But yeah, there's always a few that you'll have feelings for at some point. I usually just keep in mind that I'd rather have them as friends for a looong time than start something with them that will end after a few months and will leave me with nothing.

That''s the thing, I think he is spot on.
All my friends (gents and ladies) are really nice people, the sort of people I like to spend time with.
I could actually imagine relationships with each of my friends, I don't think any would be as good as the relationship I'm in now, but if I was single and in a bar looking to pull I'd be happy going home with any of them (obviously in real life it would never actually happen as once you enter the friend zone you never ever leave).

I also said I would never get married. But I am.

To be honest when Chris proposed I felt like I had to say yes and since then we had quite a turbulent year (to say the least).

Anyway he re proposed in Prague and this time I didn't even have to think about it, I knew (and felt) it was the thing to do.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you know when you know.

*WARNING SICK BUCKETS READY*
I'm really looking forward to the wedding this year, but most importantly I am looking forward to being able to look into my fiancés gorgeous green eyes and know he is my husbund (plus his last name begins with a B and mine a C, so it's a profitable marriage too :P )

I'm actually starting to have nightmares about the Wedding (the worse was that my uncle spilt red wine on my dress and I broke his nose) but hopefully it won't happen on the day. Eeeek.

Yeah - with my male friends, quite often there has been the initial potential for something more (or there's been the whole one-sided feelings business), but when we've got to know each other over the years and how geeky we are it's kinda gone, haha.

I'm always going on about being relucatant to generalise about gender and stuff, but I tend to get along with males better at work for example (without wanting to be one of those 'OMG girls are all bitchezzz' morons who really just like men 'cause they can flirt with them) 'cause more of them seem to share my 'go to work, do my job, go home' idea instead of getting all into the Tesco values and drama and stuff.

I also talk a massive amount of bollocks to my best male friend, which I can only imagine would be looked on with confusion/horror/disgust if said to most of the women I know. Well, most people really. That could just be that we're weird.

oh do bugger off.

we had a huge argument and she's had personal problems recently, so we've been giving each other space for a while, is that okay? if not eff off.

You've got to the point where you're not sure if you're together or not because of non-communication. Either way, get on the damn blower!

I know what you mean, but my best mate is a girl and there's no sexytime element there at all...

On an unrelated note I don't get to see my woman til Edguy in March now :(

One thing that i proper cant stand, is when two people stay together despite more or less hating each other, and spend the entire relationship arguing or point scoring - but feel so co-dependant in a really odd kind of way that they refuse to break up. Kinda puts me off them. People that go out with someone for the crack (or the best thats around at that time) seems pointless too, cos it never lasts. Dunno really, i think you know when you know. And of course arguing etc is healthy in the right way. Nothing nicer than seeing a mint couple who take everything with a pinch of salt though, and dont have a problem with being open/truthful about issues. Let it out i say, as long as its justified and not over the top.

Argh. Girl I like (a single girl this time) came over today. We watched Die Hard With a Vengeance and talked random shit. But I kept to myself (which I don't do when I hang out with Hannah, even though she has a boyfriend). When she hugged me before she left it seemed like she didn't want to let go. Yet, I didn't even try to kiss her or anything..?
What the fuck is wrong with me?
I really just want to tell her that I like her but that rarely works out in my favour. Thing is, if I don't say that then I can't see myself loosening up. But it's such a massive gamble.
Thoughts, anyone?
