Assassin's Apprentice - Robin Hobb.
First time I've read the Farseer books, I've been having extreme difficulty putting them down!

Good choice
I had that problem the first time I read them... what was really bad, though, was that we had the 1st 2 of the Farseer Trilogy but not the 3rd and the 2nd one ends on such a cliffhanger... I literally ran to the bookshop!
I'm just waiting eagerly for the latest Robin Hobb to come out... I have it on pre-order from Amazon.

I just realised I put Assasin's Apprentice. I meant Assasin's Quest, I've read the other two!

Ahhh... epic trilogy, no? The finale is just awesome.
Are you continuing with the Robin Hobb once you finish that?

I've read the Liveship Traders and loved them, and I have the Dragon Keeper to read too.
I'm between Tawny Man and Soldier Son trilogies for what to read after that though - suggestions?

Tawny Man - it's basically the sequel to Farseer... also, Fool's Fate is one of the only books ever to have made me cry.

I've heard that said by quite a lot of people... I should probably get round to reading them myself at some point and see if I agree!

They're ok, just no where near as good as the other ones.
That said I thought her new book wasn't as good as the originals (Though I did thoroughly enjoy it don't get me wrong and I can't wait for the next one. Just seemed to be lacking a little bit of something but I'm not too sure what.)

Re: The Book thread
I think I'll always prefer Farseer and The Tawny Man to a certain degree (partly just 'cause I <3 the Fool!) but I did really enjoy The Dragon Keeper.
Incidentally (on a random note) do you ever find yourself telling the characters in books not to do something even though you know that they're going to 'cause it's how the book's written and it doesn't matter how much you tell them not to? 'cause I'm rereading A Song of Ice and Fire at the moment and I was practically yelling at Ned Stark not to go to King's Landing...
