Can I jump in and recommend Anna Karenina - quite a hefty read but very good. Also Gone with the Wind if you want something a bit lighter (and you've not already read it)
2017 Gigs (here so I remember to go)

17/06 - Guns N' Roses - London
15/07 - Saor - London
10/08 - 13/08 - Bloodstock

Sam Christer - The Stonehenge Legacy.

The title alone should tell you all you need to know.

The Children of Hurin

I could sob for the fact they just don't write them like this any more :( Also, I dearly wish people still talked in this manner :D

Alan Campbell - Scar Night.

Vampiric self harming angels ensconced in a creaky old religion, set in a city suspended above a bottomless chasm by giant chains? I'm in.

Finished The Children of Hurin - for anybody who's a fan of Tolkien, I recommend it. You might want to dip into the Silmarillion first though - the story in itself is fine, but I suspect a lot of the background it references would fall a little flat without.

New illustrated edition of the Silmarillion for Christmas? Just happened to fall into my work bag? Well, guess I'm reading that then :P

I need to find a book as a present for both my uncles. Hopefully Waterstones have a book of anecdotes about bassists.

I thought Children of Hurin was right gash actually. And the Silmarillion is the greatest thing ever written in my eyes too

Hmm, I thought it works better as a short story in the body of Silmarillion, but still enjoyed it.

Graeme, I'm starting to think it would be a nightmare for everyone else if we were just left to talk books
