Sim city was amazing!!
I remember my dad used to play it with me, but took it far too seriously.

I have been playing a lot of Brutal legend that is now for the PC on Steam. I seriously forgot how fun the game is.

It's one of the most aesthetically pleasing games I have ever seen. It has a great soundtrack, great story, great voice acting, but it should have simply been left as an action sandbox. Throwing in RTS elements didn't compliment the game very well.
But yeah, it was an admirable attempt at making something unique. For that alone it deserves praise.

Yep. I will always give time to Double Fine.

^ Before you were wanting to know how to get Grim Fandango.

I found out about this today, basically it's ScummVM, but for the remaining games from LucasArts, which ran on LUA and GrimE.

Sorry but I have to disagree. I liked the idea of mixing RTS with action. But I did enjoy the single player open world rather than the multiplayer. If they make a sequel (Which is kinda unlikely) They should Improve it.

Well yeah, it is a good idea. It just didn't work brilliantly in execution. This is fine though, as it proves it CAN be done well.

Re: Computer Games Thread
When I think RTS I tend to think of C&C or Starcraft or Warcraft III etc. So when I heard action and RTS I thought it sounded awful - then I remembered games like The Thing for PS2 and others which I can't place my finger on that were brilliant - proof it can work in the right setting.
Does anyone remember the PS2 kids game (sort of like ratchet and clank) where you were a knight and there was a part a roof is on fire, and an NPC qoutes "the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire" I know it's a long shot but I want to play it again.
Sidenote I wish I had a PS3 for the ratchet and clank collection that came out for it.

Re: Computer Games Thread
Bugger, I'm going to need a 3DS.
Re: Computer Games Thread
Okay, so I decided to download MGS on my PSP and give the proper series another a chance (it just never gelled when I was a platformer obsessed 11 year old). This is pretty damn good. Fantastically odd at parts, but utterly engrossing.
