Finally got around to finishing ME2. Think it glitched though, Shepard and the Illusive Man kept going on about how it was too bad that some of my crew got killed, but everyone was still alive. I even got the achievement for saving everyone. Also, I was able to get Jack into bed after the final mission, despite getting funky with Tali before it.

Oh well. Not a bad game overall.

I agree with that, though i would not call it a great game.

Also did anyone here play xenoblade on the wii? that game looks like the best game out this year

2?

2.

2 is supposed to be p awful.

Meh, it's a good pick up and play, it's one of those games where it's kind of overpowered in a fun way. Apart from the bosses. Those things are huge.

*SPOILERS BELOW*

No, gameplay wise it was awful. The whole "press space to do anything" thing was awkward as hell.

Press space to crouch by a wall.
Now press space to jump over the wall.
Now press space to sprint to the door.
Now press space to open the door.

wtf, I have ~104 keys on my keyboard that aren't space, let me map some functions to them for crying out loud! :x

The only use team mates have is to provide you corpses to use Unity on.

I got stuck on walls and boxes more often than I'd have liked.

Planet scanning is the most useless thing ever once you've done 10 or so planets and acquired enough resources to research everything ever.

My fish kept dying until I banged my secretary.

EDI was more or less pointless, I'd expected her to turn traitorous at some point, but maybe they're saving that for 3.

The story wasn't too great either, but at least it flowed well from the end of the first game. Getting messages and missions from people you'd helped in the first game was a nice touch.

*SPOILERS END*

mass effect 2 was far from as good as ME1. however, as it wasnt as bad as, for example, fable 1 to fable 2 (that is to say, fable was incredible and fable 2 was... slightly better than fable 3  )so i can forgive bioware.

Looks like all my time will be Gears 3 for the time being. It's been a while since I've gotten into a game this much. If anyone wants some Gears fun, my Gamertag is DevilBadger

completed the campaign on hardcore, and the only bit that really gave me any bother was the lambent beserker. so gonna run through on insane. hardcore was definitely harder in the last 2 though.

Great game until near the end, and besides being a horrendous bugfest. Can be a bit overwhelming at first if you're not used to proper RPGs though.

I'll get in to it no doubt, and I have downloaded all the updates for it that seems to fix the bugs , the list of things the 2 updates fixed was quite large

Is Alpha Protocol worth £1.50? Apparently it's shit but is there that much worth of enjoyment to be had in it?

It's actually really good. The only downside is some of the animations look naff, the controls can be slightly unresponsive and it's a bit of an MGS clone in places.

However, the storyline is great, with so many different potential endings. Great characters and voice acting.

Oh, and a shootout in a disco with a crack fiend while hair metal blares out the speakers.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning being released next year is a great thing, means it wont have to fight skyrim for game of the year. looks like it would be a close fight but skyrim looks better for several reasons. still, Reckoning looks damn good.

This. It's a buggy, ugly game and I found the game a total chore for the first hour or so. Then it just clicked, and I fell in love with it. Possibly the most underrated game of this generation IMO.

Andy, KoToR 2 is a good game but it was marred by a rushed release date, which meant the game was effectively unfinished. I remember getting to the end and thinking "but about X, Y and Z? What the fuuuuuck?"

Sounds like the patches may have fixed that shit though :D
