Attempting to find Return To Zork on the internet, if you have never played this game and you like having the hell confused out of you in puzzle games. This is the one to get.

Not played anything outside of work for ages, dabbling with Last Remnant a bit, it's pretty good, Square are pretty shit nowadays though I think.
Re: Computer Games Thread
There's some sort of sale on at amazon. Loads of quite recent games really cheap (eg. Mirrors Edge on 360 is £13.99, Little big planet £12.99) Just ordered Fable 2 on it for £17.99
FUCKING SUCK!!!!
:p
Re: Computer Games Thread
I've not seen anything for a while that's interested me. We're due the summer film tie-ins soon, most of them will no doubt be shit.

Do you not like 2nd hand games? Amazon Marketplace has all those games cheaper. I buy most of my games 2nd hand from Marketplace, much cheaper than anywhere new, or pre-owned in stores.
I just finished Fable 2 as it happens, it was an acceptable diversion I guess, but again I'm completely flummoxed as to all the praise it received (as with Fable 1), it was largely repetitive, predictable and devoid of any decent storytelling.
Not that it had no charms, they were just drowned in its mediocre-ness.
Re: Computer Games Thread
I started up Baldur's Gate 2 again actually but I couldn't be bothered to do the first dungeon for the 8 zillionth time.
The amount of times I've heard:
DAHH! THE CHILD OF BHAAL HAS AWOKEN!!! TIME FOR MORE EXPERIMENTS!!!!!
YOU HAVE MUCH UNTAPPED POWAHH!!!
YOU BORE ME MAGELING!!!
But I'm always happy when he steals Imoen because she talks too much and pisses me off greatly.
And what annoys me is when you lose rep for freeing Viconia from the fanatics... it's realistic but wholly unfair.

Sorcerers Plane mods have a Dungeon-be-Gone module that gets rid of the first part and starts you off in Amn

I don't no idea why, I'm fine with 2nd hand DVD's but I'll always try to buy games new.

Re: Computer Games Thread
Completed Bioshock when I got back from holiday, end boss was insanely easy but I liked the ending itself. Definatly looking forward to the second one now.
I have Crysis and Crysis Warhead ready to go now but I'm playing some Unreal Tournament 3 first. Holy crap some of the new weapons skins look sleek as fuck on that. The sniper rifle is definatly the closest to the original yet, and I do like the fact that they've made it a lot slower firing, gives everyone a chance. I don't like the fact that the flak cannon is slower though :/

New Fallout game in development!
From today's IGN, also news of a Fallout based TV series/film
US, April 20, 2009 - Bethesda has announced a new entrant into the Fallout franchise, subtitled New Vegas. Details are slim at the moment as Bethesda is remaining tight-lipped, but a few bits of information were provided. The game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment and is due out sometime in 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is not a direct sequel to Fallout 3, though it is an RPG and Bethesda has said that you can expect the "same type of game," despite the fact that a different developer is working on it.
Bethesda did not go into specifics on gameplay or what engine would be used, but a spokesperson did mention that you can "make educated guesses" on those matters. While we're in the guessing mood, we're guessing the game will be set in a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas. IGN has been told we can expect a full reveal when Obsidian is ready to show it.
Obsidian Entertainment was founded by members of Interplay's Black Isle Studio -- the group that worked on the original Fallout games -- after it was disbanded. Bethesda has said it approached Obsidian regarding this project and an agreement was quickly reached.

Re: Computer Games Thread
As long as Avellone and Urquhart are on this, it will be awesome. Black Isle made some of my favourite games EVER.
What I really disliked about F3 was the really poor choice of weapons compared to F2:
Fallout 2 weapons: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_2_weapons
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_weapons
The unique weapons don't really make up for it, but the custom built ones are a nice touch.
