Can we not? Not only do they seem the most heavily repeated band the festival has ever had, but they're boring to watch to boot!

The best thing about the last time Opeth played was that Bloodstock put Powerwolf on in the Sophie tent at the same time, and they were so much fun.

in 2015 Powerwolf didn't play? I was with my friends who wanted to be down the front for WT (and I like them as well so didn't mind) and was so bored. Kept disappearing to get cigs, food, drinks as I couldn't stand it!

Ahhhhhhhhh, sorry, I was thinking of the time BEFORE when they headlined. I think. (Bloodstocks are all starting to merge together for me.)

Last year, I went to watch Jett Black instead of Opeth. The time before, when they were headliners, I watched PowerWolf. (I'm like 90% certain. Beer and time have blurred my memories.)

I did watch part of their set in 2008 as I really like them on album, but left after a few songs. I was still hyped up from dancing like an idiot to Helloween and they killed my party buzz.

IMHO, they're really good musicians, beautiful songs, and a good 'on the in background while I'm doing stuff' band, but I find them boring at a festival.

Fuck no. Boring as shit last time and they've played multiple times.

Get Emperor and Priest in! Fill in the last slot with whoever.

I thought this as well when I saw it

As much as I like Opeth I don't want them to headline. While 2013 was the best I've seen live; I think it was because I was able to sit in my camping chair as opposed to standing which I was the other times I saw them so could relax and soak in their music. While enjoyable that doesn't scream headliner to me, it sounds like an anti-climax to a day of music which I don't want.

Hopefully the trailer isn't a clue this year.

Can't see them headlining again - while they're doing Wembley, I'd imagine they would have lost more of their 'Bloodstock' crowd and gained more prog fans who may not fork for them in field with other metal bands. They didn't headline last time, and their crowd was not huge compared to Anthrax this year

Please not Opeth, waste of a slot - especially a headline one. They were rank in 2015.

Yeah they were pretty poor last time, and I doubt they'll be releasing anything that would mean they would be suitable for getting any slot in Bloodstock again. If they promised to play a set fully pre-Heritage I wouldn't be too opposed though.

Please god not Opeth. One of the most boring bands I've ever had the displeasure of watching.

They didn't quite overlap, and it was possible to watch Powerwolf and then head to the main stage for Opeth. I did, but I find Opeth to be dull at the best of times, and following a fantastic Powerwolf performance was all but impossible.

There we have it then. Powerwolf it is then. The masses have spoken.

Yep, I'm in the 'they're the most boring band I've ever seen' camp where Opeth are concerned, so god no.
