Personally I am happy with Amon Amarth headlining (if/when confirmed) and I would like to see them pull off a blinder of a show.

After seeing their show in 2014 I agree they should headline this time, was amazing :D I'm just starting to doubt their pulling power; it's debatable (going from sight since I don't have hard figures) if Testament had the bigger crowd last night and they're a sub level band.

In Manchester it was rammed for Amon Amarth and I was surprised just how enthusiastic the crowd was, really loud.

Oh no doubt, the amount of people dressed up in faux Viking garb and others who really went nuts for Amon shows they have earned their shot at headlining, perhaps BOA will show if they just have a big cult following rather than a broad appeal.

Still, roll on tomorrow :D

Blind Guardian have just leaked all 7 bands on Facebook

Amon Amarth headlining, Blind Guardian special guests (only UK show) with Hatebreed (yawn), Testament (hooray!) Hell (hooray!), Posseseed (hooray!)and Whitechapel (boo!).

Pretty good start although a couple of bands that people will call out as lazy bookings I guess.

Only Amon Amarth and Testament for me, both of which I saw last week. So very underwhelming I have to say

They'll have to up their game to get my money

I'm on the fence about BG but i'll give them a pass for leaking the announcement for me :D

Hmm, mixed announcement for me, just seen Amon and Testament so bit...eh but I'll probably be a bit more excited come August. Hatebreed again? Really? I'll give them another go as I wasn't feeling 100% last time but still, too soon. Hell and Possessed yes please! (plus saves me getting a ticket to the Belphegor tour). Whitechapel....ehhhhh and if I've had enough beer I'm sure Blind Guardian will be good (no doubt get dragged along by my mates anyway, I've accepted my fate  )

Blind Guardian guarantees my ticket...Amon Amarth, Testament, Hell and Possessed are all big draws too. I'd actually say this is already the best line up in a few years

While Whitechapel can naff off, I'm fine with Hatebreed playing. They are okay at what they do, and do draw a decent crowd. But let's face it, AA, BG, Testament and Hell is a bloody sexy group of bands!
As for Possessed, don't know them really. I assume they are black metal? Are they any good?

On the face of it it's a good announcement, there's not really anything negative I can say about it objectively it's 7 bands who have or can play the festival and draw a crowd of people.

From my perspective I'm absolutely bored sick of Amon Amarth and Testament at this point, never liked Blind Guardian, abhor Whitechapel, despise Hatebreed and whilst I don't have any specific dislike for Hell or Possessed neither really constitutes a ticket sale from my taste.

I'm going to Norway on holiday the week after Bloodstock so my wallet was dreading a strong announcement, at least so far that decision is relatively easy.
