Was also the year not many tickets were sold and Avenged Sevenfold got a tiny crowd.

Looking like we've escaped ST, seems they're playing the Derbyshire Mud Snorkeling Championships aka Download.
That surprises me, I remember in an interview with metal hammer Muir said he dislikes getting put on the 4th stage at DL (specifically named them as well) and only playing short sets I would of thought BOA would of been better suited.

If that was on the Thursday i'd be alright as chances are it'll just be drunken karaoke for me with that but I'd resent paying ticket price to watch a hologram instead of a proper live band (and yes I know there is a live band behind the act)

Yeah I didn't think Avenged Sevenfold were that big anymore! Tbf there's a lot of Californian metal bands with headliner potential, I'm probably way off! Looking forward to the announcement

Yeah. Like you travel half way across the world to book a band who probably don't even have anything to do with the bookings.
Be realistic. The band's management probably has a London office or you do it over the phone.

So from Babymetal to A7X, the downhill slide continues... Thankfully I can't see either ever playing BOA.

Nah, just a bit of a wild guess, I think us Bloodstockers just expect the worst

They've literally just finished a UK arena tour that was very well attended (including a sold out London date).

Metal fans ranging from their late teens to mid-thirties? Because that's who attended the Sheffield show.

That's categorically wrong. I was the youngest in our group (30), and we were certainly not the oldest attending. There was a real mix of people, certainly going into 40+, though I didn't want to include that age band as there were only pockets of people in that age range (whereas there were plenty of people that looked to be solidly in their 30s at the show).
