Didn't Manowar struggle to fill London last time?

Was just checking them out this morning - nice call.

Batushka would make me super happy. That would also mean a chance of getting Mgwa because even though it's supposed to be super hush hush who the members are, it can't be a coincidence that they always do festivals together.

North of the Wall exclusive I believe.

I can live with a smaller headliner as long as there is a decent undercard leading up to the headliners slot.

I'm with you on that. Last year was all about Twisted Sister, but the undercard was paper-thin in places. I'd happily take a 'small' headliner with more depth throughout the weekend.

I meant smaller headliner as in a large venue in London.

At the time people were suggesting bands that could play 10 arena dates.

Ah, so you're predicting a 'mid-London venue' sized band, as opposed to a Wembley Arena band?

So a Brixton/Hammersmith sized band?
Or Opeth....struggled to sell out Wembley :eyes:

I've been saying that for years  As good as a show a headliner can put on it's still only 1hr and 30mins, I'd rather have 3-4 hours of good music personally

That would be... underwhelming. I don't mind 'em, but they are nothing special in the slightest - just a radio friendly band that has okay tunes.

I just checked what position they played last at Download. They subbed the 3rd stage last year (beneath the Gutterdammerung show). Bands in the same position last year were Neck Deep and Gojira.

Other bands in that slot in recent years:
2015 - DragonForce, Body Count, The Ghost Inside
2014 - Anathema, American Head Charge, The Used
2013 - Converge, Kvelertak, Modestep
2012 - AxeWound, The Union, Ghost
2011 - Times of Grace, The King Blues, Plain White T's
2010 - As I Lay Dying, Skin, Zebrahead.

I'm not convinced they are big enough, based on that.

Really? I'd be over the fucking moon if they were, I love that band and think they should have played BOA by now, along with Therapy? who would go down brilliantly as well, but are always ignored.

I don't see it at all though, maybe big enough to headline the tent or be special guests....but full headliner? In 1995 maybe, but surely not anymore.

Have seen The Wildhearts a few times now. Great live band, but inno way are they headlining size.

3rd from top or maybe a headlining set on the SL stage.

Does anyone think they might have overspent last year, which is having an affect this year.

Either that or they're struggling.

I'm a massive fan and went to both of the recent gigs in Manchester and Nottingham, but no matter how good things go, they always screw up and It all turned to shit after a few days with a public Twitter spat between Ginger and CJ, so it looks like the new album that was due this year is looking remote (but we've been here before many times!)

As for BoA, it was looking promising when there was a Twitter exchange between ginger and Vicky. No way they'd headline, the recent venues were smaller and not sold out, and even then a lot of their crowd wouldn't come to Bloostock.

I just think there's a lot of bands touring in the next two months that are likely to be on on the bill so can't be announced yet. As for over-spending last year, on what? The Kraken ice-cream?

The overall quality of the lineup. The majority of last years bands are bigger than this years.
