Any solo travellers?

Postby benzombie » Sun Dec 11, 2016 7:31 am

Hi! I've not been to BOA before but in past years I've been a Hellfest/Wacken man. I'm excited for BOA but at the moment would be looking to travel by myself as my old metal friend has lost all interest in heavy metal. Anyone here come to BOA by themselves? A Brit at Wacken was telling me how good the festival is and how friendly everyone is so was hoping to make some new metal friends to have a drink and headbang with.

I usually go by myself and I always enjoy it. Bloodstock is really friendly, and unlike some of the bigger festivals I've been to, never feel like im on my own.

The group for newbies might be a good call too.

I've always traveled alone and met friends there or made friends along the way! :) Where will you be travelling from?

Thanks guys. I'm not a facebook person but good to know it is friendly and I'll no doubt find someone to have a drink with along the weekend!

Yeah, I've been every year since it started in 2001 and all but two of those have been by myself. I'm not a naturally social person, but even I've been able to meet people at the festival that I now call friends.

I'm on my own this year. I don't really mind. I tend to make friends almost anywhere I go so I'm not worried at all. There are a load of bands I want to see this year too! Way I see it, daytime = check some bands out, get some merch, at some point evening = anyone I get to know are welcome to a few Ciders at my place! (place=tent haha)

I'll be travelling to Bloodstock alone. I might be meeting someone there who said if he's going he'll arrive on the Friday. I should get in touch with him about that though.

With people messing up their time off and can't come until Friday and/or Saturday then I'm travelling alone this year. Seriously, they've had all year to sort this out.

Personally I'm not really bothered as I've been all over Europe on my own.

I go to most gigs by myself. Trying to find someone to go with and actually making sure they come is too much hassle. Travelling with other people is a nightmare anyway. By going alone I don't have to deal with anybody else's bullshit e.g. going to Burger King two minutes before a train leaves London at about midnight. Other people stress me out.

Travelling by myself this year.

People who used to get lifts with me either not going, moved away, or have their own wheels now.

Like Tet, I now have Bloodstock friends in spite of being on my lonesome a lot.
