I normally do VIP but managed to miss it this year as it's all sold out.
If I fail in my mission to find a VIP ticket (it's all about the toilets!) I may join you this year - if that's cool?

Hi guys, me and a friend are coming this year for the first time. Our only problem is though, we won't be able to make it until late Friday night. What are the chances, do you think, of us getting a tent space? And also the likely hood of camping next to each other with 2 x 2men tents? Cheers guys :)

Valhalla does tend to fill up quickly but there are always spaces to be found. It might be a wee bit more challenging trying to find space for 2 tents right next to each other.

Yeah, thought as much. But so long as we have space it doesn't matter too much if we're together. Just want to get set up fast so we don't miss amon amarth! Cheers!

Good thing is that no matter which campsite you choose you are a max of 5 mins walk to the arena entrance. :D

Hi guys I will be traveling up from cornwall for a weekend of metal and am thinking of joining you in camp loner, but at 48 I'm wondering if I will be able to stick the pace of you young and wild metal heads, (I remember those days fondly). or cramp your style, (never had any of that)

Fear not, I am 44 and manage just fine. The group age range goes from late teens to 50s!

First timer question - allowed tent size

Postby kwicher » Tue Jun 13, 2017 11:29 pm

Hi
Maybe a lame question but are there any restrictions on the size of the tent?
I understand that bringing 8 person tent for two people is ridiculous but we have a nice single bedroom 4 person tent with a "livng room" which we like. Would this be an overkill and would we be made to put it down?

What is your experience?

Thanks

K

In my experience, security don't tend to bother about tent size unless you are bringing a marquee.

They get more pissy about folk puting up gazebos and taking up room for tents - especially on Thursday or Friday when a good number of folk are still to arrive.
