Not so sure I agree with that. There were a couple of bands who got totally screwed in the heats in my opinion (VOID, Silverchild and Midnight Prophecy spring to mind), but of the finalists the bands who deserved the slots got them I think. Yeah strictly, Voodoo Blood play Blues not Metal, but they play on a lot of metal line-ups in Manchester and always go down really well so there's definite cross-over appeal. They had the biggest, loudest audience of the day despite being the only 1 of the 4 who didn't seem to have brought a core of mates in support. I thought they deserved the win, but I can see how that would be contentious, so a slot on the tiny stage was an excellent way to handle it.
