As to the Sophie, I want bands until 2AM instead of the 4DJs

Ahh, I always forget the commedy thing is a thing. I go to watch bands. Which is why I always whated the NB to start later and the Sophie to finish at the old time. As few gaps with no bands on as possible for each stage. Spread the satges so the festival runs each day for as longas needed but n longer so we (and the staff) can get some rest.

Bands have their times. I suspect we'll get the official ones publically in about a week.

Here's hoping they haven't sworn the bands to secrecy, so we still get *some* of the information ahead of time.

Hopefully, I've never understood how a festival like Wacken can get their set times out weeks in advance yet BOA is always last fucking minute. Annoying.

That's Weekend Tickets though. They actually stated that Day Tickets will still be available.

Just a marketing ploy IMO. If that line up has suddenly attracted several thousand extra attendees then I'll be extremely surprised.

Why is it stupid if it ends up being true?

Totally. It work months ahead, when people haven't got solid plans, but if you wanna go, you pretty much already know by now.

It might give a little boost to next years sales though.

Yea, if it does sell out then it's probably down to brexit tanking the pound making Euro fests too expensive for many people and Download's shite weather last year/shite lineup this year.

I don't think the lineup is likely to announce many more people, but it might be that the festival has just had enough of a buzz around it lately that its just selling better. Everyone seems to want to say they go to Bloodstock lately, and it usually has nothing to do with the bands - most of those people seem to be pretty much constantly in the campsite. I doubt it would translate to an actual crowd.

But it probably is just hype. I mean they've opened up a new campsite, surely they wouldn't be able to suddenly sell that out as well? It could hugely backfire for them in the future - and it seems to be already, noone really believes them.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

I actually know a few people who were leaving it late to decide whether to go. They are now going.

BOA FB now says they are down to the last few weekend tickets btw.

As for why it's selling it, there'll not likely be on singular factor tbh. I think we have underestimated Ghost's draw for one, it sounds like some of the Download regulars have switched allegiance this year too. It probably helps BOA is in August, so the least least likely of the British rock/metal fests to get bad weather too (DL, Steelhouse, Amplified and more all have had crappy weather).

I guess I'd be classed as a Download regular (been to 6, this is my second Bloodstock) I tend to pick one festival to go to due to money and getting time off work so it is which line up appeals to me most.

This year Bloodstock have knocked Download out of the park for me but not because of Ghost or Skindred for example but because of the great metal bands (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Kreator, Eradikator, Testament, Municipal Waste, Havok, Vorbid, Xentrix, Wretched Soul - I have a love of Thrash...) and they have some really good bands that would not look out of place in many non Rock/Metal festivals (Courtesans, Ward XVI, Voodoo Blood, Red Rum)

From what I understand Download didn't appeal to as many as usual this year so Bloodstock could be benefiting from this (if you see it that way!)
