Nightwish and Gojira headlining.
Bit disappointing tbh, Gojira are a terrible headliner.

Re: 2018
Does this mean the third headliner is going to be a bit more extreme,? Emperor maybe

Other way around for me. Nightwish were fantastic at Download last year and their latest album was the best thing I've heard in a long while. Gojira on the other hand, for me, are incredibly overrated and boring af.
But, looking at it objectively, I think both are good choices for headliners. Gojira's latest album got nothing but absolute praise all over the music press and when they played main support two years ago even I will admit they had a huge crowd and went down really well so I guess it's a 'strike while the iron's hot' approach which is fair enough.
And if Nightwish can headline Wembley Arena on their own then they're definitely big enough for Bloodstock. Plus, it's a good booking for those of us who like power metal and/or the more melodic side of things as it's felt like Bloodstock have been ignoring their roots in recent years so this is a good step back in that direction.

Yeah Nightwish are definitely big enough to headline it's just i hate the music. Gojira should have been on the rise a long time ago yet it's taken until now that they've been recognized for their talent! Last album did nothing for me though and don't see why they're given the bump up now when it should have been around 7 years ago.

Curious to know how Gojira will come across live - they strike me as a good studio band but headlining? Not too sure. Nightwish is a really guilty secret. I can now go and see them live without having to admit that was me intention.
Still pissed I missed Amon Amarth this year mind.

How the f*** are Gojira big enough to headline. They were barely big enough to sub last year.

Re: 2018
Really happy with both bands.
Nightwish overdue a return and was worried they might be too big for Bloodstock these days, so a bit of a coup to get them really
After last year's performance, I thought Gojira would headline 2019. Huge crowd and they just seemed to being prepped for it. A little surprised its 2018, but I love them so am happy. And really, they play similar venues to Amon Amarth, so as the 'small' headliner I think they are fine size wise

Re: 2018
Gojira's crowd was massive last year - much bigger than Arch Enemy this year and bigger than done if the headliners (particularly Mastodon) so in the context of Bloodstock attendees it's a good promotion

Disappointed with both as neither are my thing but will see how the line up takes shape.
