What you get with Exodus is a guarantee that:

They're tight as fuck live.
They will draw a large/appreciative crowd.

Would love to see them back.

You also get a lot of rightful moaning from fans who want something new rather than the same booking countless times

Aye. Plenty of other American Thrash bands out there yet to play. Sacred Reich for starters.

This. Three times in five years is excessive, especially when there are 10000000 thrash bands to choose from who haven't played so frequently.

Indeed, despite the countless repeat bookings, Flotsam & Jetsam were a great surprise booking this year. There are loads more thrash bands out there than Exodus/Kreator/Municipal Waste. Dark Angel would be a killer booking.

There's others I'd kind of rather see myself:

Merciless Death
Toxik
Vektor
Nuclear Assault
Warbringer
Toxic Holocaust

to name a few

But Exodus, three times in five years or not, I wouldn't be disappointed if they were on the bill again, sorry.

I'd still watch them if they came back but I'd rather BoA made more of an effort with their bookings than that.

Were all in agreement that we need more thrash next year then? 2013 was epic

Hopefully it's like this year and they completely neglect Power Metal :D would welcome some Thrash especially Annihilator, Sodom and Destruction. I'd like to see more Black and Doom Metal next year than anything else.

Death to Power Pop!! It should go down with the sinking ship that is Download festival.

If it was down to me (which it isn't), the thrash bands booked for next year would be Dark Angel, Nuclear Assault and Tankard.

Whiplash, Toxik and Heathen if we're going for thrash bands that haven't played BOA. However, ones that have my list is slightly different.

Sodom, Sodom and Sodom.

Overlooking power metal has my vote but judging by the band shirts I saw at my last Bloodstock, that would be as welcome as an outbreak of Ebola.

I don't want more than 3 or 4 bands of any genre on main stage to be honest.
