Call me crazy and hopeful for something good but I was checking out some gig listings and Queensryche are playing a Uk tour which ends on 7th August... so could they maybe be playing on the Main stage Saturday higher up the bill? That would bowl me over :flame: but I guess I'm just dreaming

Yeah pretty much, if for no other reason than there's no reason to keep it quiet until about 3 weeks before. If you are looking at someone big it'll be someone playing another festival (Download, Techfest, Ramblin' Man) who won't be announced until after, or have recently toured. Both are incredibly unlikely anyway, as you'd want at least some time for the band to sell tickets if they are gonna be a big one.

Edit: Not to mention thanks to Xerath we know its only the opener left to announce.

The problem is so many bands that could potentially play are either touring or doing a couple of dates around the time of BOA.

It makes us hopeful of a real wildcard final announcement and probably being unrealistic in our expectations, sadly.

Still missing 1 band from the main stage at this late stage, interesting.

There is still one more announcement (expected next Tuesday I believe). By my calculations, there'll be around 19 acts added then (inc. the Saturday main stage opener).

Says in the news article that all remaining bands will be confirmed next week. Pretty sure the last time it was this late we got Stormbringer op peening. Though I think that was because someone dropped out and Beholder got moved up?

Apparently it's Wretched Toad rather than Road. Although Wretched Road does seem like a cross between Wretched Soul and Old Corpse Road.

No announcement on here yet-maybe they don't realise that the forums are back up!

I knew they'd put Countless Skies - the best M2tM winner - on the Friday when I've got so much to watch. We Are the Catalyst are pretty good too. I could also guess the Hobgoblin winner would be total waste. Morass of Molasses on the Jager sound pretty cool too, and Hanowar sound interesting but I can't find any of their stuff.

Well due to the lack of a thread for this announcement I'll stick my verdict in here.

Countless Skies & We Are The Catalyst both sound excellent. Any Manowar is always welcome. City of Thieves, Morass of Molasses, Pig Iron & Martyr De Mona all sound worth checking out.

This is definitely your quintessential New Blood announcement, full of Stoner/Groove/Death.

Countless Skies sound cool but as Skippy previously stated Friday is choc-a-block with cracking bands.
