I can see that the longer it goes without BOA's final headliner being announced the more people will think a similar deal is going to happen with Priest

There's still hope, but it's shrinking...

That fucking tent was rammed!

We got there like an hour before they were due on and were still about 5 deep OUTSIDE the tent.

Ugh. Not surprising.

It's like when you know you did shit in an exam and expect terrible results, but are still bitterly disappointed when the results come in.

Hahaha!

My analogy wasn't terribly clear but the reason I'm disappointed is that Download have Priest and I am on holiday at that time and probs wouldn't go to Download anyway.

I had an incredibly faint hope that Priest would still be booked for BOA (We did get King Diamond on the Friday) and this announcement eradicated whatever hope I had.

There not UK exlusives, so there's still a good chance I'd say like Machine Head as others have said

Yeah it was crazy, far too big for the tent, I just remember a line of security outside stopping people from getting past because of the numbers, but a group stormed them breaking through, and I seized the opportunity to go through too, which landed me near the front at the side of the tent, somehow managed to get inside where there was a pocket of space!

But that could also imply a UK tour or soni appearance (as slim a chance as it is that they play BOA).

It could do indeed, I don't think Sonisphere will be back though. Just considering the whole MH thing, and its only one date, and headlining spot is always good for the band, after all their British so won't be that hard logistically, assuming there UK based. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but don't see how its ruled out

I don't think they've been UK based for donkeys years.

I know Halford lives in America for certain, I'd imagine the American drummer does too.

Maybe the lack of exclusivity knocked them down from headliners to subs? (although that hasn't effected Slipknot...)

I seem to recall reading that the others spend a lot of the time in Spain. That's why most of the albums in the 1980s were recorded in Spain. That was a while ago so that might not be true anymore.

The Slipknot tour sold out ridiculously quickly, suprised anyone cares about seeing them now though, there's been ample opportunity, they do put on a great show, but can't be arsed with them now. Besides that meet and great package bulls**t pissed me off!

Does seem like a bit of a slap in the face to JP though, "we're going to book you as subs under a younger band that's just played a big arena tour".... they've got to be one of the biggest headliners now, if they're expected to be able to sell a fest and a headline tour; not even Metallica have done that (yes im aware this thought is flawed)
