They're usually about middle of main stage or nearer top on second stage at Download so is plenty room for them there.

They've also done Reading and V recently, so they're not just tied to metal festivals - could be Glastonbury or Rambling Man too.

How do you figure that? They were never particularly popular, and even at their peak they were only playing to a few hundred a night here. Admittedly, the same was true of Immortal. But I think SYL are less likely to be able to make the jump to headliners.

They've probably gained a bit more popularity with the success of Devin's solo work but certainly not enough to headline.
2017 Gigs (here so I remember to go)

17/06 - Guns N' Roses - London
15/07 - Saor - London
10/08 - 13/08 - Bloodstock

It's a hard one to know where SYL would go.

They were really popular amongst my group of mates around 2005/6 or whenever.

Never really saw them touring though, whether down to my lack of attention or summat else but seems a strange one.

They were pretty early on at Download in 2006.

With the rarity factor, reformation as it would be and the fact Devin Townsend is all over the media these days I think they would be pretty high at Bloodstock.

Think they COULD headline but more likely Special Guest slot.

I think special guest would be as high as they'd go, and only if it was truly a one-off show. If it was part of a larger reunion/tour, I'd say 3rd top.

Hmmm I'd say they'd almost certainly headline. Wouldn't be the big one that year, but as a exclusive summer thing (like Emperor, and I can't see Devin wanting to do anything more), they'd end up in headliner slot. They might not have been huge back in the day, but I think they've gained a bit of reputation with the success of Devin, and are well revered amongst certain circles. I might be wrong though.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

Would have thought any SYL reunion in its first year would go to Download anyway?

Well now you don't even get to complain that Arch Enemy, Kreator, Behemoth, Watain, Blind Guardian, Judas Priest, or Mastodon may headline :P

Whoever correctly predicted all 3 headliners before they were announced WHY DIDN'T YOU WARN US MORE?!
