Wurzel died the day before Sonisphere and they played a blinder of a set!

After their performance at BST this year, I wouldn't book Lemmy for BOA as it will more than likely confirm their previous BOA performance as not a one off misfire. Best to unfortunately not book them I think, as much as I hate to say that :(

They're sadly quite hit-and-miss when it comes to live playing at the moment. But fuck it, even on their off days the music still speaks for itself.

Its going to be a singalong headliner for Sunday with at least one bit mainstream hit

Dream theater dont fall into that category, cant singalong to a drum solo

Judas Priest, Scorpions and Deep Purple all fall into what i`d guess the affordability category

I think Motley Crue, Van Halen and Kiss would be too expensive and perhaps Rush dont fit in next to many of the styles of music on the undercard

Seriously, Motorhead wouldn't be much of a draw, if we're being honest. Even forgetting that Lemmy is well past his date, surely anyone who has a passing interest in them as already seen them umpteen times.

Motorhead are extremely boring so i'd rather they didn't turn up.

Didn't Scorpions turn down Download because of the money on the table?

I heard that it was because they were offered to play the second stage which they didn't want as it would of short-changed fans in terms of the stage show they could bring (though the part about the money rings a bell though)

That's the reason they gave, but quite what they needed that second stage acts like Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie and Crüe didn't is anyone's guess. They've backtracked a little and said recently that it was commitment clash, but have said in other interviews that the offers from the UK aren't good enough.

My spidey sense is telling me that a big Metal Hammer/Kerrang band is going to headline next year. I don't think Trivium because frankly I don't think they are a big enough draw. I can see perhaps Mastodon or Opeth being booked.

Behemoth could very well be one headliner.
If they go for the older generation on the Sunday could be any of
Thin Lizzy
Venom
Rush
Anvil
Spinal Tap (12 anyone?)
Whitesnake
Deep Purple
Kiss
Iron Butterfly
imvho

I'm doubting all of these, maybe Deep Purple or even Whitesnake at a push. Rush certainly won't and I doubt Venom are big enough to headline anymore.
