Vickie on the Jasta Show

Ok, So I am currently listening to Vickie on the Jasta show and so far she has taken subtle shots at us Bloodstock forumers and made some relatively worrying comments regarding bands she would consider booking.

First point is this:

Jasta: Would you ever consider Suicide Silence for Bloodstock?
Vickie: Yeah! Of Course we would... They would be amazing!

Next of all Jasta went through a list of bands she would consider booking.

Rob Zombie: Yes
Trivium: Yes
Of Mice and Men: No (and from what I gather, it was mainly because she is too scared of the backlash)
Five Finger Death Punch: Yes ("Yes! I love them!")
The Darkness: Yes
Steel Panther: Yes (And she seemed very interested in getting this one done in particular)

So, what are peoples thoughts on this? Is this really the way we can see Bloodstock going?

She also mentioned she got 2 death threats from booking Europe in 2009 :?
Also, Kirk from Crowbar loves hairy minge

Saw Steel Panther at Wacken. They were vaguely amusing for the first five minutes. Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind The Darkness. FFDP can get lost.

They're a terrible selection of bands, the whole Trivium thing I can see but Steel Panther really? It surprises me that they haven't fallen off the face of the earth like every other "novelty band" and as for 5 finger death punch, no thanks!

Bit worrying, although as long as there are still plenty of good bands, a handful of shit ones won't put me off attending.

Me reaction to each

Suicide Silence: Fuck no
Rob Zombie: Aye
Trivium: Fuck fuck fuck no
Of Mice and Men: Dear god no
Five Finger Death Punch: Actually I like these guys, far more melodic than most of their peers
The Darkness: *vomits*
Steel Panther: Very funny & enjoyable at a gig but not convinced their show would work at a festival so well.

As a side note the death threats thing is fucking ridiculous. Europe are an awesome band.

Rob Zombie would be good but the rest need to stay at shit pop festivals like Reading/Leeds and Download! they just wouldn't go down well at a Metal festival and why the fuck are that shit unfunny band Steel Panther still a thing? They are as shit as all the Metalcore bands that exist.

Out of those bands I only like Zombie. Just because they say they'd book them doesn't mean that they would be avalible. Or fit in with the bill that would be for that year. A lot of the increase in size is to with coverage in the mainstreme metal media and if having Suicide Scilence or the like means that we could have bands like Emporer, Imortal etc then I could take that, just. I think they need a ballence and variety.

To be fair, Vickie's almost certainly got a lot of very good bands in mind as well as those mentioned - bands Jasta's probably not heard of, let alone being likely to ask her about them.

I'll wait until the next line up has actually been booked before I bother attempting to rag on Vicky again in passive aggressive retaliation. Almost an inevitability. :eyes:

Jamey Jasta plays all around the world at all kinds of festivals every year it'd be insane to think he couldn't name a decent bloodstock line up or two.
