It's 11pm...

Postby OffColour » Mon Sep 15, 2014 7:53 pm

After spending all day listening to music that's often new to me, I want to go in the Sophie tent, drink and headbang like a complete fuckwit to some classic metal tracks that every other drunken wretch will also be bouncing around to and singing along with very badly.

I do not want to hear something new, I don't want to see a fucking drum solo or a constant parade of amateur guitarists.

It's not hard. Anyone on these boards could come up with a 3 hour playlist that would give the majority of the crowd a shit eating grin.

Knock 50p off the price of a pint after midnight to keep us buying rather than disappearing back to the campsite for a few cans and a shitty Bluetooth speaker.

Keep it simple. Entertain us.

And if any arsehole even vaguely contemplates Bloodstock's got talent again, douse the twat in petrol and toss a match. :flame:

Certainly liking the 'happy hour' idea presented by the thread starter :)

Doubtful... I dunno how they pulled off getting the okay for Satan to finish late, but I wouldn't think that would become a reoccurring thing. I'm hardly an expert on UK sound law, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Would be good though. Either that or make the DJs less shite.

But then we will be calling for an alternative. :P

Knock 50p off a pint of beer after 11pm and it'll still be crazy expensive compared to my usual evening of kicking back on the campsite with a crate and/or a jug of farmhouse cider.

Instead of hearing the same Pantera song interspersed with shitty nu metal songs blaring out all night on a loop, I can be sat down having a larf with various drinking buddies and choosing some proper tunes for the CD player.

It's a bit old-farty but I really can't be arsed with metal karaoke or a pretend rock club in a circus tent when I could be chilling out after a day of metal.

So, that one DJ coming into the thread last year and taking requests....

Did any of what he promised actually happen? I was passed out early on most nights so I didn't stay in the tent to know

I definitely heard songs repeated... whether it was by the 4DJOTA, I have no idea. I remember hearing some pretty questionable songs from the campsite late into the night, but I have no idea if it was them or another DJ.

I never actually went into the tent when they were on, despite me saying I would. I just couldn't be arsed to get up from my camping chair for disappointment.

For me the campsite is always more fun than the DJ tent. Cheap booze, bin jousting, talking to cool people - after a whole day watching bands I can't be fucking arse trying to enjoy 'Walk'.
I reckon a couple more good bands and stand-up comedians would make me stay but I probably wouldn't care for the DJs even if they did play good songs.
actual hipster emo scum that still thinks his views on metal are worth commenting. deafheaven, baroness, blind guardian, kvelertak and converge pls

when you say "good bands", are you talking original bands or a decent covers/tribute act?

One of the best idea's i've seen in a while! The reason I don't bother with the sophie tent is because of the shit DJ's and overpriced beer. I can have more fun watching people make fools of themselves from my tent :P BUT, if the prices were dropped and the music even slightly improved, you'd get a lot more people in there and it'd be kinda like a club atmosphere of sorts, i'd turn up for that!

at £4 a pint you'd need to drink 8 pints in the 3 hours to see a difference
