For me it is a toss up between Rotting Christ this year, The Rotted in 2011 and Scarab in 2013

Cerebral Fix - I think that counts as it was the second stage.

As well as some of the others that have been mentioned. Abgott, Desecration, Enforcer, Steelwing, Achren, Power Quest, Ravenage, Old Corpse Road, Skiltron, Mael Mordha, Scarab, Deals Death, Conquest Of Steel, Haerken, Stahlsarg and Jaldaboath.

Quite a diverse lot. I hope they keep it that way and NOT turn it into some extreme/Black/Death/Stoner/whatever stage.

Xentrix in 2013 by some distance.
Followed by Lawnmower Deth in 2011 and PowerQuest in 2013.
Criminal were excellent in 2011 but played to a tiny crowd for some reason-Shame.
EDIT:Skilltron in 2013 were pretty cool too.

Criminal played whilst Morbid Angel were on the mainstage didn't they? Although ATG did say people should go and watch them so I dunno :?

I also somehow knew you would say Xentrix :P

Skiltron and Power Quest are both really good shouts though

If memory serves, they were on at the same time as Morbid Bagel which goes some way to explaining the small crowd!

2010 - Hospital Of Death
2011 - Tied between Angel Witch and Lawnmower Deth
2012 - Ancient Ascendant (honourable mentions to Flayed Disciple, Savage Messiah and Demonic Resurrection)
2013 - Mael Mordha (honourable mentions to Belphegor, Dying Fetus and Scarab)
2014 - Conquest Of Steel/Satan (honourable mentions to De Profundis, Blood Red Throne, Skyclad, Jaldaboath, Haerken and Stahlsarg)

I found it increasingly difficult to pick just one band as the years progressed, whether that says something about the increased quality of the line-ups or just that I spend more time watching bands in the Sophie these days is open to interpretation :P

Actually that's quite a good point there. We sit and whinge about how the lineups have gotten progressively worse with each passing year.... But clearly the Sophie stage has gotten better with each year.

Or at least, that's how it seems.

2014: Monument
2013: Last In Line
2012: Gonoreas
2011: Beholder, Blake
2010: Powerwolf
2009: Eden's Curse, Celesty
2008: Liquid Sky
2007: Beholder

A couple of truly outstanding performances from Powerwolf and Last In Line. But yeah, there have been some good bands on over the years. Less so this year, I thought. But that was true of the lineups on the other stages as well.
