I remember Dave saying in the media (can't remember if it was pre or post Bloodstock) that he promised the rest of the band to keep his comments to a minimum, given a few of his more crazy quotes were from what he's said on stage I think that maybe why he didn't really banter with the crowd

Problem with trying to interact with a crowd live is that it's a fine art, you get the likes of Metallica (and their FAMELLIEH) who repeat the same lines over and over or you get the likes of Devin Townsend/Mike Patton that seem to do it with ease. If you can't do it, better to focus on the music than ruin a show with poor interaction.

At the moment we've got death, prog, thrash, power, female fronted, commercial stuff, and black metal. So to cover all bases we need a solid doom act, (subrosa for the tent!), some trad metal and some grindcore.

Don't like power metal, but it does need another band to be balanced, and another female fronted band would be nice too. Even if just a small one, really liked Enkelination on the jager stage sunday.

^would be absolutely brilliant. Electric Wizard, Draconian or Sleep would be another option, but with the former doing a couple of shows this year, draconian doing doom over london, and the latter playing desertfest I don't see it.

Conan would demolish as well if they could be booked. They're so good I could even see them working on main stage.

Agreed. Yes, we've got a power metal band this year, and a female fronted one, and a trad metal band. But only one of each. When we've got multiple death, thrash and black metal bands, it is looking a bit unbalanced. But that seems to be the direction in which they want to take the festival.

I can see that you're obviously not a fan of folk metal.

Or doom for that matter.

Oh well, I just put female fronted metal for the time being. Although that's probably more of a general thing within the metal scene, and it doesn't necessarily have to be female fronted - there's just a general lack of women in metal.

Having a woman singing doesn't mean you're similar. Are you really gonna put Arch Enemy, Nightwish, Warlock, Lacuna Coil and Tristania in the same genre? Fuck's sake.

Yes. Heavy Metal.

I could understand if you used Darkestrah and Lacuna Coil as examples, but the bands you listed re ll pretty similar in the grand scheme of things :P
