Trivium.....guess that's me on the pint list...again

Postby Czech's Mate » Sat Dec 06, 2014 9:46 am

Given the lack of an official thread on the subject I figured that there should at least be one.

Also as I will almost certainly not be attending after this announcement I figure that I will have a chance to save up for several pints

Seriously though an appalling announcement in my opinion

I'm glad Sabbaton are headlining. I don't see this other band you speak of.

I'm pretending it isn't real. That's why it hasn't appeared here yet. Their Facebook account was hacked by trolls!

Three wank headliners, if I wanted to see Trivium, WT and Zombie I would have gone to Download last year. But I don't.

The undercard isn't appealing to me either but it appears to be aimed at a completely different audience than the headliners so far. And now Mastodon/Nightwish/Priest are essentially out of the question.

Sucks.

That's positive thinking.

I suppose it was inevitable that they play. But three mainstream headliners? What a load of wank.

You're gonna need a bigger (second stage) tent.

Ever since I bought a Hellfest ticket, I've had my doubts about going. I do think, by and large, the undercard is liking pretty good but the fact that the three headliners I have no desire to see, will hardly see me rush out and buy a Bloodstock ticket as well. Some decent headliners on the second stage could help with that though..

My attendance rests now on the strength of the Sophie headliners.

Sabaton too soon, happy with Agalloch although I would have preferred them in the tent. From what I've heard of Trivium there is an extremely minimal chance I will watch them. The Sophie headliner would have to be insanely shit for me to skip them and watch Trivium.

Despite disliking this announcement, the line-up is looking pretty good. I just dont want three early nights.

Bought my early bird ticket 2/3 days before the announcement. 9 bands I wanted to see, and thought because of Rob Zombie there was no way the third headliner would be anything other than a great proper Bloodstock band. Trivium would'nt have been so bad if they hadn't got RZ, two bands that just don't fit.

Still looking forward to seeing Nuclear Assault, Death, Within Temptation, Dark Angel, Cannibal Corpse and some of the others, but the Sophie Tent really needs to be strong this year, because two of the special guests and two of the headliners are poor enough for me to be finished with the days metal by about eight otherwise, mental.

Trivium eh? What's that? Can you hear it? Is it the sound of a barrel being scraped?

I think they've actually scraped through the bottom of the barrel and are now just digging a large hole at this point.

I think what's more appealing is the lack of an announcement on the forums.

are they planning on upping the capacity again this year? are they hoping that lots of download fans will decide that £120 to see Trivium, Within Temptation and Rob zombie is worth it if they can catch some other bands?
