Countless Skies - Friday 7th August - New Blood Stage

Postby Wartooth » Thu Jul 30, 2015 7:27 pm

Hi Guys, not only will this be my 10th ever Bloodstock, but I will also be playing too. My band Countless Skies won the M2TM Luton competition and will be playing the New Blood stage on Friday 7th August at 15:00. If you're around, and you like Melodic Death Metal in the vein of Insomnium, Be'lakor, Omnium Gatherum or Dark Tranquillity, then come and check us out :)

COUNTLESS SKIES burst onto the modern metal scene with their debut self-titled EP in late 2014. Blending progressive and darkly intense music influenced by their Scandinavian melodeth heroes, the EP began a flood of shows up and down the UK. After winning the Bedfordshire 'Metal to the Masses' competition, they have secured a slot on the New Blood stage at the UK’s No1 independent metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air 2015. Building upon their rapid momentum, they continue their conquest of the UK and will release their debut full-length at the end of 2015. With a tremendous start, the future looks bright for Countless Skies.

Sounds good, and reminded me it'd been way too long since I listened to Be'lakor last. I'll try and give you a gander on the day.

This. If this is the case, I am so sorry for you and your band as those 3 bands will no doubt have a mutual fanbase and people tend to go for the bigger/rarer bands in favour of the local UK bands when deciding who to watch to justify their ticket price.

It hurts me that Bloodstock, who claim to support the UK underground, wouldn't actively avoid clashes with similar bands for those performing on the new blood stage to give them the greatest chance at performing to a decent crowd. Either way, good luck, and I hope to see you. The single 'Solace' is unbelievably good. Hope to see you at Bloodstock!

Listened to the EP on Spotify the other week and I really liked it so barring clashes I'll be looking to come check your band out live :)

Cheers guys, hopefully stage times will be posted early this week.

I have a feeling we'll be sandwiched between Ne Obliviscaris and Enslaved, so come check us out in between :)

I hope this is true. If it is, along with the fact that Fleshgod and WT don't clash entirely, then I will have no complaints about BOAs stage times at all!

Sounds rather good, I'll be coming along assuming no clashes.

Barring a clash, I'll pop in. As you come from my neck of the woods it's only nice :) LOL. I'm that bloke you keep bumping into, met you outside the Underworld flyering your album I think.

TBH a lot of the New Blood stage sounds better to me than the Sophie tent...

I'm down for checking out Forgotten Remains too.

Usually I'd watch 2, 3 or even 4 New Blood bands a day but this year watching Countless Skies will be the only time the whole weekend I'll enter that tent. Odd you made a thread. I'll look forward to seeing you, I can catch most of Enslaved afterwards.

Sucks that you partly clash with Ne Obliviscaris, but I'll pop along for a bit.
