Venom are now back under Behemoth on the Friday.

I'll stop mentioning it now. I'm sure it will settle down soon.

I dunno how clear this has been made in the rest of the thread, but I would say I'm willing to bet a *lot* of money that they'll be 3rd from top, so an hour slot ;)

Not seen Venom live, has anyone on here seen them? Are they likely to play a lot from their first two albums or are they only going to play the odd classic?

Not taking your bet as that's what the festival Facebook replied to someone saying.

Had a gander at their recent set lists, seems peppered with a few of the classics but not all of them.

A lot of them seem to list Buried Alive but not Raise the Dead which I find pretty saddening.

It's public now, wasn't when I replied to Turbo. Seeing Venom Inc. in Malta in a couple of months, will be interesting to see how the two different 'versions' of the band compare.

Got bored at work yesterday and scribbled this down. I know we're not doing this yet, but here's some bands I'd like to see on the lineup:

Friday:
Devin Townsend Project
Behemoth
Venom
Mayhem
My Dying Bride
Satyricon
Alcest
The Gentle Storm
Anvil

Repulsion to headline Sophie tent
Saturday:
Nightwish
Kreator
Accept
Sodom
Gorgoroth
Destruction
Dragonforce
Tankard
Seprevation

Candlemass to headline Sophie tent

Sunday
Judas Priest
Steel Panther (it seems it has to happen, and if we HAD to have a download band then at least a funny singalong one would be better than a Trivium, LOG or machine head)
Alestorm
Marduk
Xandria
Dark Fortress
Diamond Head
Stream of Passion
Amulet

Deicide to headline Sophie tent.

Yes there's not enough power metal, no I don't care. If we could get 5 of those 28 it'd be wicked

Townsend is big enough to headline now. There's no chance of them getting Autopsy, they already said Netherlands Death Fest will be the only EU show (which is why I got tickets, otherwise they'd have been my first name on the bill)

Powerwolf are everywhere now. I've seen them three times due to festivals and I'd rather drink a bucket of warm sick than see them again. And as they headline everywhere else (somehow) I don't think they'd come for that kind of a slot. Mastodon not a bad choice if we have to have a mainstream headliner, as overrated as they are

Townsend bores the shit out of me and he's played at least a couple of times before. I thought Autopsy was a bit of a long shot but I've never seen them and they're one of the few death metal bands I've a great interest in still doing so.

I've never seen Powerwolf. They may be everywhere to you but as far as I know they've never come within a couple hundred miles of me and have never turned up at any festival I've been to. I haven't liked a Mastodon album since Crack the Skye and find them pretty variable live but they seem the sort of size band the festival is looking for.

I bloody love Ghost though, be happy to have them headline!

They've played the UK precisely twice (and were fantastic both times). I hardly think that counts as being "everywhere". They've graduated from The Underworld (a 500 capactiy venue) last time around to Islington Academy (800 cap) in a few weeks. I think they'd be quite happy playing to many thousands on the main stage at Bloodstock, even if it's not one of the later slots.
