Troy Sanders is the lead singer, Brent Hinds doesn't like metal.

I'm baddy, but the point stands.

If anything it's worse that Brent doesn't like metal since he writes the songs

Regardless, as long as they don't regress back to that shitty Crack The Skye style they can play any metal festival they like.

Oof, I bloody love that album. I think it's a masterpiece, won my album of the year in 2009 and I was touting it as one of the best albums I'd heard in the last few years at the time. Sadly the 2 that followed have been rubbish and the ones before were nowhere near as good. They do seem a band that keep alienating their own fan base!

I can't be arsed with it, it's so dull and unexciting, which was the complete opposite of the album before it. The 2 albums after weren't that good but I liked them way more, the first half of the new album is okay but the rest after that is forgettable.

They seem like they'll be another band that doesn't seem to realize they're headlining, so just treat it like any other gig. We're running low on headline-caliber bands who'd actually love the opportunity.

Should get Voivod back, they're basically a heavier better version of Mastodon.

Well that's what you are going to get with the majority of DL bands, they're going to view BOA as playing a smaller festival/ a step down; that and BOA doesn't have the history that DL or Soni has, it's Catton Hall not Donington or Knebworth. There will be a few exceptions like MH and Megadeth (to an extent) but I can see it being a pattern.

I doubt any band really cares where they play or even if they headline. It's all about the monies.

The fact that it's Metal Hammer announcing does not bode well.

Download do

I wouldn't read too much into it. It will be part of the sponsorship that these people provide and give good exposure to the festival
