Slayer have been my joint favourite band for 30 years. Some of the best gigs I've ever seen have been by them (granted, most of those a long time ago. Hammersmith Odeon 1987, Brixton Academy 1994 and Rock City 2000. Sublime. They haven't been quite the same for a while). I'd still rather get someone else though. Would be terribly disappointing to end on exactly the same 2 bands as closed the weekend just 3 years ago.

Judas Priest would be phenomenal, shame we'll probably end up with Slayer of FFDP or some other underwhelming shite.

I think it should be Judas Priest, seems a prime opportunity now that they've played Download last year and may want to do another show, especially as headliner, earn a few bucks, it's just a question of how much they cost, I did a quick google search and looks like they cost around 150k (this could be wrong of course) now how does that cost compare to bands like Rob Zombie who are surely around the same cost I would of thought. I love Slayer and would definitely enjoy them again, but seems like a lazy booking especially with Anthrax directly underneath, but perhaps they're getting their repeat tips from Download! Slayer would still be much more preferable than ffdp, then again thats not saying much!
Do people think the organisers are even looking at bands like Judas Priest considering recent headliners?

£150,000? Cheap as chips. Only about a tenner each from our entry fee as I would expect them to attract a few extra attendees.

I don't think it's going to be Lamb Of God for some reason. :lol:

Priest are obviously too small to headline Download but could they be considered too big to headline Bloodstock? Hope not and that they are the third headliner cos I love them. Im seeing them next week in Glasgow but would still be delighted if they are announced as third headliner.

Priest make sense as they haven't headlined before and would shift a decent number of tickets too.

As long as it isn't FFDP or BFMV I will probably be quite happy with whoever we get.

Not really - given that Alice Cooper, Heaven and Hell, Motorhead etc have all been booked. JP are recognisable and would be nothing less than headliner but as a stand alone act not as big a draw as other headliners, including RZ - they're due to play Manc Apollo next week and there's still standing tickets available - they've sold out two nights there in the past, and I think the High Voltage night they played had a smaller crowd than BOA. Just depends on how much they think they're worth, and what other offers they get - they're still a big draw in the States.
