The fact it's being bigged up as a massive announcement has destroyed any excitement for me. I'm convinced it's going to be someone I think are shit. All the bands Bloodstock are likely to book that I like are the ones they announce as an aside!

It's confirmed to be this week on Facebook. My guess is it was due to be today, but they want to wait until after Download announces because for some reason they always seem to want to one-up them by announcing afterwards. Not quite sure if this announcement is getting hyped, and if it is why it would do. All the bigger bands are announced now surely.

it made me wonder if they've done something like book Bill Bailey? they posted a link to an interview of his at the weekend on the FB page where he talks about Bloodstock and metal.

Much as I love Bill Bailey I don't think they'd hype him up, everyone is expecting a big band announcement and I can only see that getting a negative reaction. What Skippy says is true though, all the headliners are announced so how big can it be?!

Perhaps it's an incredibly rare band, or they've convinced someone to reform? Satyricon are playing an old school 45 minutes, would be cool if they've tempted Nocturno Culto to do a Darkthrone set with them again like they did at Wacken a dozen or so years back (yeah ok, I'm dreaming. It'll be a newly formed supergroup of Hatebreed and Devildriver members with Jonathon Davis on vocals really).

Possibly they are going to stun us an announce someone like Manowar - more likely to be Steel Panther.

I guess there is still third down on Sunday (going by the new banner thing they've posted, where it ends with Paradise Lost, I'd guess one more). Maybe that's someone spectacular? I hope it isn't Sophie headliners they are hyping, I want those to be decent alternative but somewhat underground bands, not some big massive thing. Actually, I have a feeling it'll be Wednesday 13. Just because of all the bullshit that blew up recently.

Simon Hall's respone to the Manowar suggestion on Facebook...

"Irrespective of common belief I actually like early Manowar ... its the bass player, the inflated managerial egos and the frankly ridiculous price tag that I find irksome."

Yet more bollocks about Manowar charging loads of money. I doubt they cost as much as shite like Mastodon. If so I want to see the proof.

'Surprise You're Dead' promotions (the guys behind the Ministry and Devildriver tour) stated on Bookface neither band are booked for BOA. Soilwork announced a 'watch this space' regarding Summer festival bookings, however. And I'm still baffled by that Metal Hammer Napalm Death statement!
