Twisted Sister please. :D

They've only just confirmed them? To me that sounds like one of their original targets have either dropped out broke off negotiations :?

I wouldn't take that as too great news either; FFDP, Korn nor KSE have played BOA

My guess is Mastodon.

They've gotten my hopes up for Priest, but it'll probably be someone shit.

If they do announce Judas priest they won't until after or half way through there uk tour in November.
I'd love it to happen. Twisted sister as special guests too. Blind Guardian would be great as special guest tho. Nightwish would be awseome a repeated act yes (played 2008 ) but they would be amazing. Korn will likly headline or Mastodon, Mastodon headlined Brutal Assault this year. And Korn Headlined Hellfest. So would make sense.
Also people VENOM AND BEHEMOTH ARE NOT! !!!!!!!!!!!!! HEADLINING! !!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry so many people have said they are There not. Behemoth are special guests on Friday night and Venom are under Behemoth.

You can't really compare playing Hellfest with BOA. Hellfest has always had non Metal bands on the bill, be they Hard Rock, Glam or Punk. It's more the equivalent to Download with a few decent bands and an extreme Metal tent.

Can't compair the two. Really? ?? Are they both not metal festivals? ?? Hellfest is nothing like download. To start with Hellfest can organise ia Decent festival for organiseation and line up.
Now at Hellfest 2012 King Dimond headlined the mainstage 2. Then at Bloodstock 2013 King Dimond Headlined. ROB zombie played Hellfest 2014 then Bloodstock 2015 Rob zombie Headlines. Emperor played both hellfest and bloodstock 2014. Cannibal corpse played BOTH hellfest and bloodstock 2015. So u can't say that you can't compair hellfest with Bloodstock cause you can. Plus in past few years bands who have headlined mainstage 2 one year seem to headline bloodstock the next. Or bands who are 1 away from headlining main stage 1 at hellfest.
So you can compair the two.
And comparing hellfest to download is an insult imo.
So going by the type of bands who have been booked in the last few years and the pattern between hellfest and bloodstock I conclude that Korn. Nightwish and Judas priest will likly headline. All 3 bands have new albums and tours too.

Last year at Hellfest:

Faith No More, Slipknot, ZZ Top, Slash, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Airbourne, Billy Idol, Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb Of God, Killing Joke, The Answer, Life Of Agony, Godsmack, Body Count, Dead Kennedys, NOFX, etc.

Now if that isn't a Download line up with a few token Metal bands on the mainstage then I don't know what is.

Download may only have 2/3 extreme metal bands though, but at Hellfest 2014 I spent literally an entire day between The Valley and the black/death metal tent. At Download could you see 15+ legit black/death/doom bands in a day? Hellfest tries to appeal to everyone who likes pretty much all styles of hard rock and metal, whereas Download doesn't.

Hellfest, like Download, will put on bands that gets punters through the gates. Its not like Hellfest has better taste, just maybe the attendees do and it caters for that, in the same way DL caters for those with 'poor taste'. Stuff like stoner and doom is more popular over the channel (Desertfest Antwerp was far bigger than London), with bands doing full tours but skipping the UK, so a tent full of that stuff makes more sense.

I did mention the extreme Metal tent. Some of the bands in the other tent are more suitable for Reading.

It was more the view that a band is suitable to play BOA because they had played Hellfest that I was commenting on though. Not accounting for the fact that Hellfest holds 50,000 opposed to BOAs 10,000ish. We're not getting ZZ Top or Iron Maiden any day soon.

Exactly-this is not news, they have to book a total of three headliners at some stage so unless they actually tell us who they are then the announcement is pointless.

Apparently, there's an announcement "sooooooon". Hopefully that translates to "next Tuesday" in English.

They've only just booked them?
Are we waiting until all 3 headliners have been booked until we get another announcement then? Could be waiting for awhile then :?
