Thirded. I'm not the biggest fan in the world, but they'd be better than the majority of the bands booked so far.

Goes to show how shite the line up is this year when people are talking about Stryper as a band who could improve things

It's funny but I clearly remember this time last year almost the same comments about how bad the line up is! I can't disagree though, really really wonder what they are thinking by booking bands like Stuck Mojo and Misery Loves Co and on the main stage! Who in the history of Bloodstock requested them!? I find Gojira and Rotting Christ annoying bookings too fir different reasons.

Well, I very much doubt the entire booking policy is based purely on requests. It's not as simple as "oh, a bunch of people have asked for these 3 bands - so we'll automatically be able to book them as they will definitely be available and for the price that we want them at". It's a bit more complex than that.

But - Bloodstock do need to drop the whole "by the fans, for the fans" bollox now as it really isn't the case anymore. Which I'm ok with, I'd just rather they be honest about it. Like, don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining, you know?

This is exactly what I was hoping for - the Sophie fleshed out a bit more with some bands I can check out. I don't think any of these are amazing, but there's a few things worth watching.

This is Turin - didn't bother with them last time, a little too shouty for my tastes.

One Machine - sounds pretty good, I'm not a fan of thrash but at least it isn't shouty all the way through. Definitely one to check out

Memoriam - can't find more than a 30 second teaser, but I'm fairly sure I wouldn't be interested anyway, not a death metal fan.

Derange - don't sound amazing, but could be worth checking out. Not sure about the attempted growls though.

Pythia - always decent fun, probably the best band of the announcement.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

Didn't realise Pythia were still going. We booked them for the Rock of Ages club night in Leeds back in 2010 so they've managed to stick it out for a pretty impressive amount of time given that they never 'made it'. May well check 'em out if they clash with something rubbish on the main stage.

Really happy to see Pythia coming back, they were probably my band of the festival last time they played. One Machine are also a great addition, saw them supporting Fear Factory last year and they were pretty impressive. The others I don't know, need to give them all a listen.

Nothing of much interest there. I'm not sure why they make a pre announcement for stuff like this, just ends up underwhelming!
