I'm not certain Ghost will be here next year, part of me thinks they'll do Download to make up for dropping out this year. However I can see Ghost headlining BOA eventually.

Yup, I suspect this will be what happens.

So judging by their current trajectory, by 2018 Ghost will definitely be big enough to headline. By 2022 they will headline Glasto. By 2025 Papa will be secretary general of the UN. By 2029 Ghost will be Earths chosen representatives on the first intergalactic council. By 2033 they will have met the dude in the centre of the universe and won the game.

20th anniversary tour of Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk would be amazing. Wouldnt surprise me if they skipped Bloodstock this time though and only did either a London date or not UK date at all, but I hope I'm wrong

My prediction 2017 -

Friday headliner - Hell
Saturday - Some Devin Townsend event or Blind Guardian
Sunday - Hoping for Priest, but I wouldn't hold my breath ;-)
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... ME.

Hell? Great band but couldn't get more than a few hundred to Leicester on a Saturday for a one off show. Maybe one of the 1hr slots, but not SG level yet, when you compare them to other bands in those slots.

Devin's probably a good shout.

Anthems? Can't see them doing that, it's nowhere near as good as Nightside. More likely to be mix of stuff, but if they wanna do Anthems I wouldn't complain.

Emperor playing fests again in 2017 is a funny one, as Ihsahn has said from the start he doesn't want the reunions to result in them making a new album. Only so many reunions they can do, but If BOA can get them I'd fully support that and it'd pretty much guarantee me going.

Anthems is my favourite black metal album of all time, much better than Nightside so just goes to show different people like different things!m

But I'd take either that or a general set

They could play Wurzels covers and I'd still buy my ticket on the basis of seeing Emperor again.

That would be worth seeing irrespective of your opinion on the band.

Only if they hand out free straw hats for everyone

Part of me thinks Amon Amarth and Kreator will do a co-headline next year, just a hunch that I'd like to come true.

Surprised they didn't announce anything.

I'm holding on hope that this means they're figuring out contracts with Judas Priest and know they don't need a mid-fest announcement to bring up the excitement.

Or that next years headliners are gonna be a fucking state. Did anyone say Opeth?
