I swear to God I will not be held responsible for my actions.

Agreed. Something really needs to be done about the music on the screens now, I used to get bored when they had a whole video going through, the same songs would keep popping up, but last year only had three and this year just the one. Either don't play anything at all or give us some variety.

I remember the year they played Love Tyger by Edguy, at least that was alright and was survivable. The thing that compounded the problem was hearing a lot of AC/DC in the arena this year which just made the Airbourne song sound worse in comparison. Please have more songs in rotation next year.

Airbourne are awesome and that song is better than half the shite that was on the lineup.

Personally I really liked it. But I'm in complete agreement that it was on too often. That amount of overexposure just pisses people off.

Complaining about Airbourne when they kept playing Rage Against The Machine's new song?

I had no issues with the song, it was just irritating to get snippets of it every 5 minutes.

Better ideas for the use of the big screens:

-music videos for the bands playing the New Blood / Jaeger tents to give them some extra exposure and draw people to their sets

-pre-festival interviews with the bands

-pre-festival interviews with the organisers

-interviews with the crowd ('Why do you love Bloodstock?')

-hold a competition where people can submit shorts of 5 minutes or fewer on certain relevant themes (music, metal, festivals, etc.) and run the entertaining submissions.

-videos from previous BOA performances (though not sure how that would go legally, assume it would be covered by the festival's PRS license?)

-the Hypnotoad

Obviously selling the advertising is earning money for BOA, which is only a good thing as more money = better festival. However, the advertising is having the opposite of the intended effect because it is repeated SO often - so it's putting people off.

The first time they hear it, people think, 'Ooh, Airbourne has a new song, I must check that out." The 80th time, they think, 'If I never hear this song again it'll be too soon.' Surely this is the opposite of the intended effect of advertising!

If they ran other, non-commerical content as well, along WITH the ads, then the ads would be more effective.

(I was sick of it too, and I actually didn't spend most of my time at the RJD stage.)

Think there was only a couple of times I was at RJD without there being a band on so couldn't tell you what the song sounded like. Did highly enjoy the fairground playing Crabulon though.

I was growing annoyed with the blackberry smoke song on the friday. which had the intro that sounded almost identical to the airborne song..
also, while waiting around on the sunday we timed how often the airborne video came back on. it was every 5 fucking minutes. without fail.

Urgh.

At least that lasted about a minute, half the time I would get distracted and skip it; no luck with Airbourne.

I like Airbourne but picking an average track and playing it ad nauseam for 3 days, instead of getting hyped for the new album I think I'm going to have PTSD hearing the track again when I give the new album a spin eventually.
