I'm glad I got to see LoG, Slayer and MfH many times and for a reasonable price before they all got to be 'mainstream'.....all 3 bands have never failed to entertain and along with Pantera are MY Big 4 (imvho)

The one that always mystifies me is 'Slayer always sound the same'. Despite the fact their first 4 albums sounds nothing like each other and in the 90s they were accused of being influenced by groove/nu metal bands too much.

Generalizing anyone that likes new wave of American metal bands or anything remotely hardcore as a "meathead" or "knuckle dragger" also seems to be a thing too

Ha, that's also very true, probably made by people that have already made their minds up and nothing will change that.

I will slag off Slayer. I don't think they are very good. And, aside from a few songs, don't think they've ever been very good.
BANDS I LIKE FOR BLOODSTOCK!!!

It's amazing what losing two of your main members can do for your reputation

This lineup is actually looking really good, I'm half tempted to give Download a try for the first time! :o Loads of stuff I would watch and Batushka is a huge draw for me -why haven't Bloodstock managed to get them before? Praying for them as the final Sophie headliner!

The Friday is a day-ticket day for me & the mrs -

I get Delain, Slash, Skid Row, Tesla

She finally gets to see David Coverdale do his stuff

Def Leppard will no doubt be fun live, but Slash with Guns n Roses beats the Miles Kennedy band I'm afraid !

Cracking lineup this year. Can easily make up 3 pretty full days looking at the day/stage splits so will definitely be getting a couple of weekend tickets this year

Now the day splits have been announced with the most recent batch of bands, I'm erring more towards a Friday ticket.

Of course, the weather makes a huge difference so I probably won't decide until the week of the festival as to which day to get a ticket for, but if the forecast doesn't show it to be pissing it down, I'll probably go on the Friday and head home on the last train back to Leeds before Def Leppard as I'll be seeing them at Rock Fest Barcelona anyway which nicely avoids having to spring for a hotel.

Friday looks like the day most suited to my tastes and at the moment, I've already got (clashes pending) - Last in Line, Tesla, Skid Row, Clutch, Whitesnake, Slash & Rob Zombie. With a nice bit of a sunshine that could be a great day out :)

Of course, this will all depend on the stage times as if they continue the trend of having the 2nd stage finish around 9pm that would be great, but if they put it back to being after 10pm then I'd likely miss the last train home which puts me off.

Actually looks alright this year, typical it's the first year that I can't go. No doubt clashes (take it 4th stage finishes before other stages, Slayer clashing against Municipal Waste is an odd one); and short sets erode the amount of bands I would see in the end anyway.

NXT the pick of that announcement for me, but I was expecting it anyway. The normal NXT UK tapings are two nights of ~3 hour shows that gets split into approx. 6 hours of TV time. Will be interesting how that transitions to three days of Download. Will be well worth a visit for those on the fence about wrestling and well worth avoiding for those who don't like it.
